Now that he's a Spanish player he'll find comfort playing in la liga if Barca or Real come calling. It is what it is. Not to mention he spent majority of his time at Bilbao anyway. He's wanted out last 2 seasons as well so what's to say his mind has changed now? Stones will play and if he's in good form again it'll be hard to drop him

They both ,especially Barca, don’t have a pot to piss in. So I don’t see Laporte going to either.I would be surprised if Laporte stays. Both Real Madrid and Barca are looking for a CB.

You’re probs right and in this current climate unless them clubs raise additional funds somehow, Sterling ends up going much later in his career. Problem is for us, he may not end up renewing his contract still and then ends up going on a free somewhere in the summer 2023Prob with the last two is they just bought players for those positions or will be. Adama & Torres went to Barca, Madrid have Mbappe and Vicinius, Newcastle bought Burns for LCB as much as I like Ake as our 4th hes about the same level for Newcastle as Burns is.
Sterling might have nowhere to go in this monetary climate, a 3 three extension and try for a Spain swansong at 30?

If Madrid move Mbappe to a 9 when Benzema calls it a day, they may look for a wide player.

There's always a long list of players destined to leave according to most, the reality is very different. Dinhos time here will come to an end, Mendy won't be here anymore and we may be forced to look for suitors for Sterling if he isn't signing a new contract and that will be it imo.
A new fullback (right or left, doesn't matter due to Cancelo's versatility) a dinho replacement and a striker to replace them.

Yep, and Tommy Doyle who has probably more first time mins, currently looking well suited to the championship. Getting some minutes means nowt long term, could list plenty of them....the only one who has looked like he could reach that level is Palmer as was Foden.....always hope they make it, but very very few will, a long way to go for McAtee.

Don't dislike him, just don't think he is or ever will be close to good enough for first team squad, like most of the academy won't be. Who’s buying him on the sort of wages he’ll want? He will only want to go to a top tier club who will be favourites for the champions league. That doesn’t leave a lot of options.

I think the contract situations of Mahrez, Jesus, Gundo and sterling will mean something will happen this summer, dont think the club will be happy to let all 4 leave on a free. I think selling Jesus probably makes the most sense, but if sterling's not renewing we probably have to sell to stop him walking up the M62.

Why? Hazard went for €150m at 29 with 1 year left, Ronaldo went for €100m at 33, Bonucci was €40m at 30 in 2017. Chris Wood just went for €30m FFS.
Mahrez is one of the best players in the world, he's not going to move for pittance.
PSG are losing Di Maria and Mbappe and will look to sell Icardi and Draxler. They need prestige as well as quality and they'll have the cash.

I think Mahrez’s situation might depend on how keen his newly pregnant girlfriend (Ashley Ward’s daughter) would be to move from her family support network in Cheshire to a new country with a new baby when she almost certainly doesn’t speak the language
