Who’s gone in the summer?

The Sterling thing is an odd one.

Who’s buying him on the sort of wages he’ll want? He will only want to go to a top tier club who will be favourites for the champions league. That doesn’t leave a lot of options.
What about Spurs?
He'd get to go back to London and play with Kane, those two and Son would make a good forward line.

Why? Hazard went for €150m at 29 with 1 year left, Ronaldo went for €100m at 33, Bonucci was €40m at 30 in 2017. Chris Wood just went for €30m FFS.

Mahrez is one of the best players in the world, he's not going to move for pittance.

PSG are losing Di Maria and Mbappe and will look to sell Icardi and Draxler. They need prestige as well as quality and they'll have the cash.
How many times were we told they would never sell us Mbappe. Same thinking applies here - they wont want to give us £80m.

I'd take £40m given his age and we have so many attacking players with more coming through. All money in helps to pay for our next big signing. Selling players to PSG is not a bad move in my book. I dont see them as a threat in the same way that other Prem teams or Real / B Munich are.

None of those transfers are remotely comparable. Hazard was 28 (and if you’re going to claim he was 29 then we can say Mahrez is 32) and Madrid had been chasing him for years. Ronaldo was the best striker in the world at the time and had massive commercial benefits. Bonucci was under contract and was one of the worlds best defenders and Wood had a buyout claim and was under long term contract too.

How much did we sell Sané for again?

If I was Eddie Howe, I'd be all over trying to sign Zinny. Young, Serial winner, International with a great attitude. He could be the cornerstone to build on, not that I want him to go mind.
£100m min price for moneybags Newcastle. Can’t buy success, can’t buy class. Plastic rotten club. ;)

Easy this! I must belong to a history club now. Grrrrreat.

I think they will move for ake though

I think Mahrez’s situation might depend on how keen his newly pregnant girlfriend (Ashley Ward’s daughter) would be to move from her family support network in Cheshire to a new country with a new baby when she almost certainly doesn’t speak the language

Guaranteed that he won't leave the northwest let alone the country! My best guess is that City won't make a call on his deal until this time next year. In the meantime if he finds a place to go play on a free that he wants then they'll let that happen.

I am surprised that so many are suggesting Mahrez. He frustrated me a lot when he arrived but he’s been excellent both this and last season. He’s just about to turn 31 so hardly ancient, he doesn’t rely on pace so if he can keep fit he should have a big role to play for us.

This summer I can see Fernandinho moving on but after that there’s a few who’s future will probably depend on game time between now and the end of the season, Jesus, Ake, Zinchenko and to a lesser extent Sterling.

Nay, nay and thrice nay for me. Superstar, coach and excellent squad player

Oh I defo hope ferna stays at the club mate! Could see city trying to force the issue with raz though and maybe Ake might want to play more? Certainly as he’s picked up medals already and maybe more this season? The squad certainly seems content and close though so I’d love haaland and a new DM and leave the rest the same for next season if possible

I know we need to keep things fresh, but I don't see any real passengers in our squad. Nobody I would want to move on. We seem to have a fairly tight knit group of players, and there are no real bellends in the squad (so long as Grealish and Foden keep their off the field antics in check).

There may be one or two who want out, but that's ultimately up to them.

Walker says don't forget me
