The ground is now built and won't be rebuilt.

True. When the school kid mob get going in CBL3 they make a right fckin racket!
 
As others have said we need a proper home end. No away fans and in the north stand.

I would also merge south stand level 1 and 2, but that’s not going to happen. It would be perfect as it would connect to south stand level 3, whereas now the stands are completely separated
 
Big test on Saturday, imo. It doesn't matter how much moaning is done on this thread, Eastlands is never going to be bouncing at 12.30 for a category C game. At a late kick off that me and many others will see as a very important step into retaining or not retaining the title against a team who, by my reckoning, we owe one...! Should be cracking, bring it on.

why would anyone be outraged at Kane ? he publicly wanted to join us - Pep wanted him = Levy handcuffed him to stay - I'd say he deserves a clap for his attempts to join us

You’re right, outrage is too strong a word and I think with hindsight most blues realise we dodged a bullet and are relieved we didn’t splurge megabucks on him. But …. his “attempts” to join us were woefully weak.

“Oh nooo Mr Levy you said I could go this summer - *lip starts trembling* you pro …. you promised.
“For fucks sake Harry grow up, if I get £160m you can go, if not tough luck, NOW GET OUT OF MY FUCKING OFFICE”

Not outraged but he'll be bantered. Kane is right, Spurs are shite, etc.

Hummm. I think you'll find most blues aren't arsed either way. He wanted to join us, but his club didn't want to sell. No hard feelings. If we wanted him that badly there was a price to pay (£150M). We didn't pay that, and that looks the correct decision. Spurs were fully entitled to keep their player and Kane was fully entitled not to have to go to war with the club that had helped nurture him into the player he is today.

I get what you’re saying but there’s 90 or so blocks if I’m right? 4 or 5 concentrated in one area doesn’t make for a great atmosphere, people look at the other 95% of the ground as well not just the blocks you mention in the South Stand / East corner.

This is true, but at the same time, the absolute key issue is the lack of people singing generally - not really where the singers are located.

I sit in the middle of 115 and around me there are more people who don't sing than those who do.

It's a mentality issue rather than a structural one.
 
Perhaps this should be in the unpopular opinion thread but if people in the south stand actually stood in their ticketed seat instead of grouping with mates wherever and then chatting all game or trying to show off to one another goading a single away fan they'd be more inclined to actually sing.

Agree, people need to look at themselves not always ticket prices, not having one joined up area, acoustics etc. Saying that we’ve had this malaise for years so it’s not going to suddenly change without some kind of engineering. The club really need two or three singing areas not the one that they have. You’d like to think it would carry then into other areas around the ground. 1894 should try to take the singing out of the South Stand for cup games to see how it works imo. The South Stand is a safe location and nothing’s going to change with the current set up.

We have thought about this and spoken about it to the club. The main issue is finding the space to do it as the rest of the stadium is full of season card holders who would be upset at being moved (even for cup games). We've discussed some ideas about how we could get around this with the club though - let's see what happens.

I'd actually disagree with this and say bunching works better.

Most songs in the whole stadium are started off by a group of us at the back of 115 (usually about 10+) who start a song and keep it going. If we couldn't bunch it would be harder to start the songs. We even have tactics lol - we put the loudest lads right at the back to start songs off with others strategically located around the block in quiet areas to join in.

There are examples like you mentioned who just bunch up to be near their mates and still offer nothing though.

A better system would be completely unreserved seating in the south stand. That would allow singers to get in early and congregate together either at the front or the back of the block and could turn 10/15 people into 100/150 people singing constantly. But I doubt we'll ever have it with the ground security.
