Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Personally I am thankful we have the best manager/coach of the current generation. He turned an indifferent Barcelona to imperious winners. Burnt himself out, went to the german rags and won all domestically. Then arrived in East Manchester, brought us a style of football and success beyond expectation, - 100 points!!, winning streaks, goals scored and football which all have never seen before in England - despite it appears we aren't as big as dippers, rags, tarquins, etc etc

He also supports charities important to him (remember the yellow ribbon and the flak he got).

Mourinho lived in a hotel room, Pep embraces OUR city and City.

Just think we could have Bingo, Brenda, Ollie, et al

We are very lucky, thanks to all who run the club, especially Pep

In this thread when defending Pep it's the media twisting and making shit up.

Then media are then used to validate a story no one on here knows about for sure.

Seems weird to give leeyway for one circumstance and take the other as gospel

You'd have to have an incredibly childish mindset to think the media are a single entity.

Pep thinks history is about winning European trophies, he hasn't a clue what the history of a club is. Didn't our history start in 1894?
"He hasn't a clue what the history of a club is" . Then questions when our history started.
Peak fordy.

I think Pep's intention was to urge the fans to create a better atmosphere at the ground vs Southampton. But he didn't know how to say it without implying the support is not loud enough, which would sound as criticism of the match-going fans. Therefore, he said he wants 'more fans' implying he wants louder support. He would be pleased even if only 30 000 fans attended the game, provided they were loud enough. And he said it yesterday when asked to clarify his words.

Basically, it wasn't about the number of fans, but about the quality of the support. He didn't want to say it directly. He didn't mean that the quality of the support is not good enough in principle, but only that the team will need more support vs Southampton given the tiredness of the players.

Pep looked a bit rattled yesterday, which isn't good. He implied that if some fans don't understand him after 5-6 years at the club, they probably don't want to understand him. That is, it's not only some media who misunderstand his words, but also some fans. He's baffled why they still don't trust him enough after 3 titles, 10 trophies and tens of broken records. It's baffling indeed.

If he said the players are knackered, we need loud support at the weekend please, it wouldn’t have made the news and we wouldn’t still be talking about it.

He was misunderstood because he spoke wrongly.

I reckon it’ll be dead and buried by full time today though.

At last, someone understands!

The OSC could be a much stronger unit, continuing to function at a high level within the club, if the doubters and naysayers bothered to get a few quid out to join and take part rather than just dick measuring and pissing in the wind on here.

A club is only as strong as it's membership. The OSC has the potential to give supporters a genuine voice in the club.
We are all members of Manchester City FC, and if your a season ticket holder, you have the golden ticket, big dick champion you name it you have it, without season ticket holders this club is nothing.

OSC give it a rest.

He is not a native speaker and didn't probably think the implications through. But had he said he wanted louder support, the implication would be the fans were quiet, and for him this could be twisted as an outright criticism of the match-going fans. It's guaranteed his words would still be commented had they been followed by a silly comment from Parker. It's Parker who helped the media to turn it into a big story. It's outrageous that someone like Parker could tell Pep to basically shut up and stick to coaching. No wonder Pep was rattled.

A very reasonable, rational, level headed response from a Villa fan to the usual shit we put up with on atmosphere, crowds etc. Fair play - suppose not everyone is an attention seeking populist tosser.
