Half chips, half rice?

Abomination ? So you have never had chips and rice with curry it just means instead of a full portion of rice and chips with your curry you get half of each, which means you are paying less for your meal.

Chips and curry or chips and Chinese should never be seen together - you’ll be deep frying Mars bars next

OP said he was watching A Question Of Sport.

Tell you what is weird and is a question needing an answer........

....why does anyone bother watching Question Of Sport these days??

Institution of a show, a shadow of it's former self

Watching Question of Sport last night and the question of a curry came up - Paddy McGuinness said he always had it with half chips, half rice. What kind of abomination is that? Is it a northern thing or is McGuinness just weird?
It’s called a “Curry half-half”

My worst ever Chinese takeaway was bought in Manchester after a game we played at tje Rags gaff as a lad. Euro replay after one of their cunts pretended he was hit by a bottle. Utter crap, I threw the bottle and it was nowhere near him.

So anyway, we were driving hack up the road and pulled into a place. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with rice. Took it back to car, opened it and it was green lumpy and vile.

I thought they had given me the wrong thing, so went back with it. The people didnt really do half pissed, fucked off Glasgow accent. So It took a bit of time to get across there was no way I was paying for pond scum over rice.

They told me it was sweet and sour and I told them never to move to Glasgow. Luckily we all saw the funny side and I left with two portions of chips.
To be fair and honest, the chips were shite too, but I couldn't face another standoff so just ate them whilst calling the people the worst fucking takeaway in the known universe.

Oh Manchester, so much to answer for.

Did glasgow invent sweet n sour then?

I have eaten sweet n sour in bangkok, lopburi, udon thani, khorat, kuala lumpa, hong kong, singapore, phnonm penh, manchester, london, jersey, guernsey, liverpool.

Each one of them was different but all were sweet n sour, it is a genereic name for a dish, there is no right or wrong way

Half chips, half fried rice, a steak and kidney pudding and thick Chinese curry sauce

nothing better on a Monday lunchtime after a heavy weekend

True story.
Was visiting relatives in Ireland some years back, and whilst visiting the local chippy after a night out I ordered half n half with curry. Young girl behind the counter looked bemused and advised they didn't do it, and could only offer curry and chips or curry and rice.
Despite my protestations, she couldn't get her head around it and went and got the owner. After much discussion and explanation, I offered to pay for a full portion of rice and a full portion of chips but served half n half etc, to be told "it won't all fit on the tray".
Think I ended up with sausage and chips.
