TV Series

Reacher on Amazon Prime.

I've watched the first few episodes - it's a good bit of fun - with an over-the-top, insanely unbelievable Reacher. A 6-5", 200 lb plus, ultra smart Reacher kicking ass against the bad guys in each episode. It's a bit of unrealistic and yet escapist fun.
===
An aside...

Did anyone else watch and enjoy the Canadian Broadcasting Company series, "Burden of Truth?"

It's interesting that the star of "Burden of Truth," the beautiful Kristin Kreuk makes an appearance in Reacher - as does Paul Braunstein who played a bad-guy cop in BoT... I guess that networking and friendship plays an important role for some actors when auditioning for new roles.

Haven't watched any of it yet but Lee Child who wrote the books intended Reacher to be an imposing kick-ass guy. If you read the books it's clear. He was never happy with Tiny Tom Cruise being cast in the films. Didn't stop him laughing all the way to the bank.

'Euphoria', series one.

I have a daughter with complex life issues, who copes via substance abuse, from time to time. I've never known what she's gone through, through the little bits she's told me about how she thinks, but this show... It just made things click for me. My daughter is older now, but she reminds me very much of the lead character.

I asked if she'd seen the show, which she hadn't, but said she'd look out for it. I, also, asked if we could talk after she'd watch it.

Not making assumptions, but I feel we could talk better now I've watched it and maybe the leap to understanding her issues is less than the chasm it was before.

Not seen a better show about today's teenage/ young adult life and 'Sex Education' looks like child's play, in comparison.

It's been mentioned quite a few pages back but Your Honor on the Sky Platform is a very decent watch. It's a one season ten episoder and we were both royally entertained throughout it's tenure.

A slight critism in that a brace of the middle episodes were bloated and a little akin to watching a Peyton Place soap opera. Nevertheless they were still digestable but not carrying the edge of the seat draw the other eight produced.

Started watching Reacher today and done three episodes. Thoroughly enjoying it, perfect tv for a day off when it’s howling and pouring down outside.

Did the same. Great fun.
I’ve read all the books and glad it has gone back to being relatively faithful to the source material, as opposed to the ludicrous casting of Tom Cruise in the films.
Like the books it is good, honest, pulpy action fun and again like the novels it is much better written than you might expect at face value.
Le Child himself turns up in a cameo in the final episode

Just caught up on Gomorrah s5. Simply outstanding. In there as one of the best TV series I've ever watched, from start to finish just brilliantly done. In terms of Mafia related series it's in ahead of The Sopranos (although different in style) and Suburra.

Question is what should be next? Is Romanzo Criminale worth a go or would I be let down? I've seen Narcos and am getting through Ozark with not much of it left. Also looking forward to the new series of Peaky Blinders but need something else.

Finished it myself a week or so ago all in one run.

Was pretty good yeah. The ending was pretty much perfect for the show. If not for the audiences.

edit. Try Reacher as a palette cleanser. totally different and mindless fun, but entertaining and very easy to watch, after all that seriousness.

I've plugged this series before - but I can't recommend Patriot highly enough - you can watch it on Amazon Prime and possibly other streaming outlets.

The humor is sublime - but, I suppose, quirky.

Here's a clip from mid-episode for you to gauge whether this series might be to your liking. In the clip, Leslie has recently resumed using drugs due to numerous, taxing encounters with the series' protagonist, Lakeman. Here we see Leslie participating in a group therapy session:

Not sure if it’s a film or docudrama type show but I’m half way through the Tinder Swindler on Netflix with the missus. Incredible that someone could get these women under their spell so quickly. They were literally giving him thousands of dollars within weeks of first meeting him online and declaring their love etc. They all seemed intelligent too. Shows that love can cloud judgement badly.

If you going to watch the movie Dr strange and the multiverse that’s out 6th May apparently to be up to speed it’s recommended you watch the animation tv series What if…

Am not one for animations watched the first episode it was alright and could see from the first episode why it’s recommended to watch it! 9 episodes long.

I've just finished series 1 of Resident Alien (really enjoyed it) and since series 2 doesn't start until Thursday you've convinced me.
