Russian invasion of Ukraine

seems like putin has lost the plot maybe he is on deaths door and wants to take everyone with him. If so he won’t care about nuking the world his bunker will protect him anyway.
 
One thing I just read on another forum so not my idea.

Russia has only sent in 30% of the troops. But what is the make up of the 70% left? Are these 70% an occupation force of standard infantry men rather than hardened attack troops.

'standard infantry' are always going to be the majority rather than SF etc. I think the standard ratio is about 1 'pointy end' killing machine type to 3 or 4 support / logistics bods.
 
Ukrainian’s being urged to remove road signs to hinder Russians getting to where they are going… apparently some people have changed signed to say “go fuck yourselves” in every direction!

As daft as it sounds creating cul de sacs in-between apartment blocks with heat/law/rpgs on multiple floor would scare the shit out of armoured convoys.

Yes, seems sensible behaviour for the club.

Of course, it's likely to be held up as something allowed by the lack of immediate action from the govt (putting no opinion on whether the delay in action is reasonable, as I don't know how it works).
 
I saw something earlier that Putin was banking on a 1 to 4 day roll over of Ukraine - with former allies backing the EU sanctions and more and more countries banning incoming flights from Russia - and he is incandescent with rage at the lack of the promised progress as the longer it goes on the more the world is drawing in around him. Its reckoned the absolute tip top armed forces and weaponry will last 10 days then they will need to rotate the front line troops out for reserves and presumably return to muskets and throwing stones?

I know there’s a humanitarian crisis ongoing and we’re on the verge of WW3 and the nuclear annihilation of the human race, but Jesus, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.

4 days?

He’s facing an insurgency backed - even if via backchannels - by NATO.

4 days? Forget even 4 years. Or 10. This is a never ending quagmire of shit for Putin.

Right now I’d put my money on in four days Putin being assassinated by one of his own guys over Putin being victorious in Ukraine.
