The nuclear facility at Chernobyl has been surrounded and taken over by the Russians, I don’t like the sound of that, one bomb on the top of that and we’ve all had it.
Peace talks while they carry on bombing the second city is bad. The situation isn’t getting any better

Ben Wallace was on GMB and was asked if he agreed with Liz Truss's comments. He said no and recommended people who wanted to join an army to apply to the British one.

I know Ben wallace is as dumb as the rest of them but people don't want to join the British army, they want to fight the Russians in Ukraine, just for the duration of this war. - Or until they get injured or killed.

You are correct, it's not her fault, but I think it says a lot that they've blamed her for it, knowing that our allies will know what a woefully inept person she is.

Probably a few of the ex Warsaw Pact countries have MIGs and Su-27s sitting around which the Ukrainians will already be trained on and which they would be happy to part with in exchange for some more modern jets from the rest of the EU.

Very hard to go on as normal when all this is happening.

It's completely understandable, everything seems insignificant in comparison.

Don't think the Russians had or have any plans to negotiate any terms that don't involve them getting 100% of their own way. It's a tough place to be in for any government. How do you reason with a guy who's cheese has obviously slid off his cracker ? You can't and you have to tread carefully because of it.

Providing safe passage and shelter for anyone wanting to get out of Ukraine should be top priority. I think there is huge anger we aren't more organised on this front, that's where I see the biggest failings. Talk is fucking cheap as far as I can see on this

Should we announce immidiately scrapping of visa requirements for Ukranians into the UK? Of course we should but we are not the first port of call here and no one can jump into a plane to get here either. What’s important is the actions of near neighbours and the EU who have responded incredibly well in allowing Ukranians in but of course, announce today a reciprocal agreement because it’s the right thing to do.

What work needs doing to keep the site safe from day to day? Is it still going on if there are Russians taking the facility or have all the site staff departed?

Nothing you can do about it, so don’t worry yourself sick with it. I have been, don’t get me wrong.

Yes that is my thought. Putin is acting like this is the Soviet Union from 50 years ago, lots of people have access to information and it must be common knowledge that his spoutings are bullshit. There are lots of people, presumably with a lot of influence, that have a lot to loose here. I also think the possibility of a military coup is not beyond possibility

Seeing the footage of him sat at one side of a huge table with 2 Generals sat at the opposite end tells me he trusts nobody. If that's the case then there is no way they either trust or like him in return. I live in hope that there is much discord behind the scenes.
I've never bothered to fact check but I'm sure I heard that when Gorbachev went he was given the choice by Yeltsin of either resigning or getting a bullet to the brain. That's how it goes there, I'm hoping privately the story will play out the same

I agree with what west dids posted above. When I heard her giving it the biggun i just thought "what a twat". The rhetoric has been very careful from all states, especially the US, whereas Truss just says whatever comes into her brain.
