Transnistria (Moldovan breakaway state and home of FC Sherif and it's parent corporation) has Russian Troops in it.
I thought the wife held grudges for a long time:-)Correct but they were English and they were headquartered in London back then.
Sorry when did the Ukraine join nato again?Well, like it or not, it is one of the primary reasons he's invaded. Its something he's talked about for years...has made it clear he has his own "red line" for NATO expansion, its why he invaded Georgia previously....and has repeatedly railed against expansion of NATO.
I think you need to get over the fact that this is his justification, it just is. He has always viewed NATO as a threat to Russia. You ask, who is he to tell them who can join NATO...he's the guy that wants to reconstitute the USSR, the guy who wants to flex Russia's influence in eastern europe and over their former bloc states, OF COURSE he is going to try and influence who joins an alliance that is primarily in existence to thwart Russian aggression! Come on man!
None of this makes it right, it just is what it is. Thankfully the west stands united against him, NATO will now be stronger than its ever been, and hopefully Ukraine can repel this invasion long enough for the crippling economic sanctions to force Russia to stand down.
mildly concerned, more about the knock on effect on my ISA if i'm being honestHow’s everyone’s anxiety right now? Mine sky high I took a few hours off from reading the forum but I got that butterfly feeling in my stomach constantly.
I just keep looking at my kids plus new born and thinking this could be it it’s angin. I know I can’t control it but it’s already set in my body. I wasn’t bothered with covid but nukes different level mate.

Mate chill, there was a woman on tv last night, she said it's a common ploy by despots to make out they're crazy so more likely to push the button, it's just a ploy. He knows he's not the only ones with nukes and 90% of the world are against him, I'm sure he's not wanting to commit suicide anytime soon.I just keep looking at my kids plus new born and thinking this could be it it’s angin. Some more staged events for everyone, mad that there are cameras everywhere how convenient.
Send in saggy tits Gail that will do the job lolHonestly mate try to not let it get to you. Hard when you look at the little ones. Look we’ve only sent weapons to Ukraine and sanctioned the Russians. If they don’t back down we have this warning up our sleeve

And if that doesn’t trigger an immediate withdrawal we too can go nuclear and show them the “you know what” photo of same lady. I won’t post here as don’t want a banning
Regardless of everything going on, the sanctions, the potential war crimes, ultimately there needs to be a peace. The sooner we can find an 'out' for Putin, the better for all involved, particularly the average Ukrainian. Pushing him further into a further is going to make things a lot worse.
I suspect he'll want the two regions the separatists have been fighting over, not because they're Russian, but because they provide a land route to Crimea. The Ukrainian army aren't strong enough to kick Russia out of there now, so unless NATO is planning on doing it, which would be a huge escalation, they may offer Putin the 'win' he'll want to claim whilst minimising the death and destruction that will happen from now. I suspect he's realised the Ukrainians don't see him as the saviour he thinks of himself as, so unless he wants another Afghanistan, the sooner he can get out the better for him domestically.
Europe then needs to concentrate on bringing Ukraine into the EU and closer to Europe but maybe turn down the joining NATO bit. Invading an EU country in the future world probably be a line too far, but then not being in NATO removes part of his paranoia, or at least the part of it he can spew on state TV. Let him claim his victories whilst the rest of us get back to international trade and finding an alternative gas supplier.
Trump and the Republicans admire Putin because of his nationalism and the weird association with him and strength. People like Nigel Farage are the same, they long for a Putin type authoritarian governmental system which stamps over anything that was put in place to stop the implementation of rather questionable policies. The Republican party has conveniently forgotten their lord and savior was impeached for withholding military aid from Ukriane and attempting to extort Zelensky who they have been non stop praising.
If I hear "this wouldn't have happened under Trump" one more time I might snap. The only difference is Trump would have ushered the Russians in at the border.
Nothing will happen unless NATO fall for something like this no fly zone nonsense, which I don't think they will. No one is going to sacrifice their security for the Ukrainians. It's the first time in my life where when I go to bed at night, the thought at least passes through my mind that - however unlikely it may be - I might wake up to find that there's been various nuclear strikes. Or even, worst case, that I might not even wake up at all.
Anyone who is not remotely concerned about this, has not been paying attention.
Cameras like a smart phone?
Oh ffsCameras like a smart phone?
I very much do, I have 6 seats on a flight to Dubai before then, for a week whilst I re-arrange my Thai pass (which we already have but for early April), then Thailand until after the Easter holidays. Maybe after then, who knows. So you don’t think Putin is about to launch his nukes at least by the weekend... Come to the game, I’ll buy you a pint. No @andyhinch before you ask, the offer doesn’t extend to you
It can only go one of two ways.Mate chill, there was a woman on tv last night, she said it's a common ploy by despots to make out they're crazy so more likely to push the button, it's just a ploy.
