First casualty of war is truth etc.BBC radio news state that 70% of Russians trust Putin and believe all the fake news coming out of the Kremlin. Radio stations in Russia being closed down for referring to the 'special military exercises' as 'war' or 'invasion'.
A woman from Ukraine was just cut off as she related the situation there. Very sinister.
That is so true, whilst I am on the side of believing the west, some of the stuff I have read really does seem like the propaganda machine is in overdrive.First casualty of war is truth etc.
My wife is Russian, she’s lived in the UK for 25 years and whilst definitely not a Putin supporter fits into that 70% as does her father, a very intelligent man, whom I respect a lot. It’s honestly very difficult for me to get my head around their views which are basically that Russians in East Ukraine have been persecuted, murdered etc by a fascist Ukraine over the years and that Putin has up til now done everything he can for a peaceful solution but now has been left with no other option (oh and NATO takes is share of the blame in all this too). These are of course completely opposite to my views but arguing has become impossible - it’s literally like arguing to a mirror - I say ‘you’re being lied to’ - they say ‘no, you are being lied to’.BBC radio news state that 70% of Russians trust Putin and believe all the fake news coming out of the Kremlin. Yes l am surprised that so many on here fall for it, but we do have our share of 'militant kranks' although not as that What's App clown meant.First casualty of war is truth etc.
Creating a scenario where world war 3 breaks out or multiple countries get involved, just leads to more civilians dying in other countries. Sadly Ukraine are on their own here, but we will do as much as we can without causing a broader conflict.
100% this, if only we could supply the Ukranians with the means to do this. I'm not sure how well defended that convoy would be.It is heartbreaking and as much as part of me would absolutely love a squadron of RAF typhoons to be lighting up that stranded Russian convoy like a firework, sadly preventing a broader conflict is the right thing to do, globally speaking.
Putin needs a way out of this with dignity or it'll get messy. I think NATO should agree that Ukraine will never be a member in return for a complete russian withdrawal, and Ukraine being a buffer with EU membership possible at a later stage.
This is weird....
Russia also want Ukraine’s economic and mineral assets.!it’s a war of plunder as much as it is about Russia’s “security”.Putin needs a way out of this with dignity or it'll get messy. At least they will be able to believe the deterioration of their living standards within 3 monthsBBC radio news state that 70% of Russians trust Putin and believe all the fake news coming out of the Kremlin. It’s an American and he’s been named and shamed. He’s a trust fund son.Wouldn’t surprise me if that was a Russian bloke doing an American accent.

Not all French fought against Germany, not all Germans fought for Germany, Ukraine was an occupied nation, some collaborated, most didn't. There were even Russians, the Russian Liberation Army, that fought FOR Hitler.Look closer mate they all didn’t .
I am in the exact same position as you and feel your pain :-(My wife is Russian, she’s lived in the UK for 25 years and whilst definitely not a Putin supporter fits into that 70% as does her father, a very intelligent man, whom I respect a lot. It’s difficult for me to understand how smart people can think like this, all I’ve come up with is that this belief that the west manipulates the truth has been ingrained in them for decades that it just becomes who they are.
The whole situation is very sad
Two weeks ago maybe :-(Do you really think that would be enough?
For either side?
