Pretty much what I expect with a north/west and south/east divide along those who are linguistically and ethnically more Russian or Ukrainian similar to the map below.
The area is pretty much what was merged back into the Ukrainain republic by Lenin post 1917 with the formation of the Ukrainian SSR.

Not that those predominately russian speaking Ukrainians seem happy with tihs invasion and have been seen to be twllong russian troops to fuck off home.

Putin definately wants to control of the sea of Avoz and the mainland fresh warer and fuel links to crimea, which have been closes off for 8 years, if he secures the southern regions and cripples Kyiv enough to take years to rebuild infrastructure , he may (though fuck knows anymore with the mad twat) take a ceasefire option and negotiate.

Todays world is incomparable to 1938. If NATO had existed back then, Hitler would've still been at his easel with his bed propped up by returned copies of Mein Kampf.

Forte10 is a drone at 54000 feet, and is currently over Poland east of Warsaw, it has a very long flight range time.

The brit fighters (and tanker) have been patrolling over Romania (and have for the last few nights).
 
Not looking good in Kyiv tonight, 4 big explosions in the last 20mins according to reports.

Sirens also going off all the way west in Lviv.

From this Map how about (as I said earlier) the Russians settle for the yellow bits and leave the rest alone -not great but liveable -maybe??

Because a lot of the people in the yellow bits, don't want to be, and aren't russian, which is why they're putting up such a fight to stop it.

Even some of the russian "speaking" people don't actually want to be russian, which is why this map is about the linguistic side of things.

a bit trite but I get what you mean - in many ways this whole conflict should change things substantially - the idea of the benefits of gains through the soft power aid brings needs to be re-assessed - the reduction in foreign aid need not affect support for people who are starving - people at risk from disease however I am afraid it does need to be linked to support and aid from regimes that no longer fit with our values - thats a change for my views - and frankly if a country has a wealthy elite and a poverty stricken poor and "rely" on aid from the UK then that is not good enough - we could help people in refugee camps - fuck we could probably sort the channel boats issue if we channelled aid in the right way - sadly too many "friends of...." groups in the Commons lobby for continued support where it is no longer justified.
