Russian invasion of Ukraine

Again a mostly sensible post - in contrast to your original bullshit.

I will however point out this remark of yours as a point of rational departure:
>> As of today Russia knows that no EU country would be foolish enough to attack them, unless they have USA backing them up

WTF? No European nation whatsoever has any designs on attacking anyone. Moreover, USA wouldn't back an attack on Russia even now.

Get a fucking clue, idiot.

Russia has nuclear weapons and ICBMS. No one is going to fucking invade them!

You seem to be able to struggle separating things and/or are able to understand even the simplest sentences. I am just writing how the Russians sees the world from their deluded communist eyes, not give an accurate reflection of how we, who live in the real world, think about things.

If I say "My brother likes banana"
Does it mean:
A: I like banana
or
B: My brother likes banana

So far you have answered "A" every time.
There is obviously no point since you are not capable of having a discussion or understand a single word I'm writing. Go argue with someone else.

Good (if true).

I wonder where they are flying from (if true), because close to the Ukraine border with Romania and Poland, there are NATO tankers up almost 24/7, and the US/UK have an asset flying close to the border that coordinates military air traffic, not 24/7, but certainly for long periods of each day, plus the US keep putting a very high level drone in the area for up to 24 hours at a time.

So he's just claimed there's thousands of Indian and Chinese hostages in Ukraine.

...China and India are going to come out and say that's not true...why would he chose the 2 world powers who are remaining neutral?

Sometimes the purpose of the lie is to show the power of the liar. The more outrageous the better for this purpose. Here Putin is saying "I can lie with impunity and I can kill with impunity. You are powerless to prevent me". He is mocking his opponents.

The Nazis put "Arbeit macht frei" above the gates of Austwitz. They didn't believe it.

At least, that's the logical explanation. He could be a paranoid delusionist who heard voices in his head telling him this stuff!

Let me once more explain things to you as simply as possible - this will no doubt sail right over your head.

Russians don't like bananas. At all. Instead, they claim to like bananas in order to garner support of perceived banana-loving nations? Get it?
===
I didn't think so.
===
So once more.

In Russia you have a virtual Adolph Hitler in charge. Hitler wants to invade the Ukraine. He makes up excuses to do so. Among which is that the USA is bad and the Ukraine is bad and NATO is bad and a NATO-backed Ukraine is bad and so on.

And this message is hammered home on Russian controlled media. And hence gains some traction.

Does Putin actually believe this bullshit? No - it's ridiculous.

Does the Russian populace believe this bullshit - hard to say, but I'd venture probably not. There's a fair few Russian's who are basically nationalist (older folks mostly) who want Russia to expand and gain influence.

Then there's the younger Russians who - by all accounts - are mostly opposed to Putin's invasion.

The claim that "Russians believe that the invasion of Ukraine is justified" is, I think, mostly wrong. That "a large segment of the Russian populace believes that the invasion of Ukraine is justified" is I think true - temporarily. If the war drags on - and if the Russian economy suffers as a result - such nominal support will (most likely) quickly evaporate.

All this shit has just reinforced my thoughts that "life is too short."
I have applied for partial retirement at work and I'm grabbing that reduced pension and lump sum.
Fuck it.
Good luck with it all, i'll be doing the same in about a year.
54 and had enough, lump sum a go go at 55, skint by 65 haha.
Just my luck that Russia may turn me to dust just shy of getting the lumper.....inconsiderate cunts

I'd advise everyone to do the same. I saw so many people working hard to pay for a dream retirement they never saw as they died before reaching it. I've been retired early over five years now and covid aside I have been spending three months abroad and short breaks too. The peace of mind not having to commute, get up for work, the stress and imposition on my time has been great. Freedom. Of course if you have expensive tastes and hobbies you may have to forego some but you soon adapt. Go for it

Think similar situation to what you laid out with Cuba in 60s?
Yes and the USA bleated like fuck.
It's strange isn't it, just because you happened to be born in a particular country you believe what that country tells you and the other country must be telling lies.

By the way did we ever find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq or are we still trusting Tony on that one?

...and on a side note, didn't Ireland declare themselves neutral in WW2 but still give safe haven to German Uboats?
