City’s New Kits

Looking at that from the other way round, even though it brings back very bad memories (especially that Luton game!!!) I think the kit we wore the first time we got relegated is pretty smart. The away white that season with black/red pin stripes i thought was pretty good too, something you certainly couldn't say about the team!!
This is obviously the first time I can remember us getting relegated, as obviously City had been relegated before 1983 (even though we were actually only formed in 2008 ofcourse!)

Probably nostalgia but you can’t beat the 90s for football shirts. Not just city but loads of clubs had better looking threads back then. Plus the Brother logo always looks great compared to anything we’ve had since.

these on footy headlines are the rumoured home and away:

100% not. The only genuine leaks that come out will ALWAYS be on a mannequin. NEVER a computer generated template.

and puma or the club never sneakily leak either to garner reaction. Itll be a plumber or something that happens to be there. Never an actual employee

i had what i thought was a really interesting chat recently with a guy who is totally on the inside of the kit process at city/puma.
Filled me in on all the process of picking a kit

Go on then.

Seems as though we will be getting Pumas new Ultraweave technology featured on the latest Italy kit. Lightest shirt ever made apparently. Has a weird v-neck collar, not sure if that'll be the same for us mind?

For 'Ultraweave technology' read 'yet another form of nylon' rebadged to sound more exotic in order to relieve the more gullible among us of an eye-watering sum of money.

This isn’t right at all. Once Footyheadlines get the actual details on the shirt designs then they’re usually highly accurate with their mock-ups. So far all they know are the colours but once they get new information in the coming months we’ll see a close to accurate design from them.

Go on then.
Ok. So puma will present City with 2 versions of a kit. Always actual shirts on a mannequin , which is why computer generated mock ups are always bollocks. They dont exist.
City will then pick which they prefer and tweaks. Puma will then come back with 2 versions of the chosen shirt.
ultimately kaldoon picks which version with advice from the commercial dept. But the shirts are very much puma designs with little input from City.
at the end of the day puma pay the £millions out so its their risk in getting a £’s return back on sales.
city as with most clubs. Make little on shirt sales.

Thanks. Do City set them a brief at all, or do Puma just go "hell, we fancy blue shorts this season" and City just let them have free rein?
