I think this is a case of now or never for having him then. If he goes to Madrid then they’ll put a ridiculous release clause in and we’ll never see him in blue.

Promising him this means we can get him now and maybe in 4/5 years then he might not want to move (Silva, Aguero, Yaya) or his might want to go (Sane, Ferran) but it’s a risk worth taking to get him now.

Seems more a promise to father and agent and even to the Spanish clubs than to the player himself, if you ask me. In four years he’ll be more in control of his own career I’d think

Does he even suit City, I mean he’s a fantastic striker but City usually dominate possession and could be doing with a natural fox in the box, instead of Haaland who enjoys a bit of space up front. I’m sure he’ll still score goals but could be square pegs round holes kinda thing.

Ronaldo plus Cavani leaving should open up enough wage capacity to sign this guy. Then just need a couple of CMs and a CB, and we should be in decent shape to challenge for top 4 next season.

So just one of the world's best strikers, two central midfielders and a centre back and they could challenge for top 4. In fairness, with those signings, so could Norwich and they wouldn't even need to buy new scarves to support them.

Please be true. We've got an extra bank holiday this year and it's next friday, making for a long weekend with Paddy's day on the thursday. If it's announced next friday, that's that day accounted for, all day on the phone.
 
First of all, I don’t believe Ballus on this point that Mbappe signing for Madrid has any relation to this transfer

But most importantly, how exactly would RM announce Mbappe on Friday? And why?

He hasn't even signed yet!! I remember when we announced Aguero, some of the journalists put a spin on it that he is only joining City because Atletico won't directly sell him to Madrid.

If he emulates his Bundesliga goal scoring record, we will be handing out contract renewals to him every two years.

If he were to move to Madrid, it would be the most expensive transfer ever, doubt Madrid would even entertain that possibility because by that time a new crop of strikers will pop up anyway.

Wasn't it Ballus who announced that Bernardo had signed an extension a few weeks ago? Would suggest he's not that close to what's happening anymore
