Erling Haaland

All fair, but much better to skip a season than 5 or so.

I don't see Kane as a guarantee, certainly not over a number of years. I definitely don't see him as 100m player. If prior to Sergio's drop in fitness and while still contracted to us, someone had suggested replacing him with Kane for 100m, we'd all have laughed our socks off. If that interview hadn't come out yet and with it this taking it for granted it is a done deal, I wonder how many of those arguing he is the best (which he is not, amongst the top at most) would be adbocating signing him with no links whatsoever. To me it feels a bit bias for the fact we think we can land him rather than should get him.

Took us ages to sort out CBs, and a lot of money. Doesn't need to happen with a forward.
A little harsh to suggest we are that gullible we only want Kane because we are linked. I’m unsure what you want from a striker, I want mine to score a shit load of goals. Something he has GUARANTEED all his career.

We didn’t replace Kompany along with then getting hurt with injuries. Aguero gone we are a Gabby injury away from having nobody. Sheer lunacy to be in that position, can’t win the league and then be weaker the following year as we know. Top goal scorer, top assists, great pen taker and all for a team that do very little each year. He is clinical, imagine a ruthless striker on the end of what we create.

Completely selfish? Most assists this year mate. Vanishes versus the top clubs? He scores against every top club he’s played if I remember correctly. If you don’t want him mate that’s no worries, many don’t strangely but don’t make things up.
I respect your views buddy but take Lewandowski last night. Not in a great team but lead from the front and got his goal. Then look at Kane against Scotland, he was terrible. Both are captains I just don’t see it. I know we can all blame Southgate and tactics but great players find a way, lead by example and so on.

But, by the same token, we could also see the same thing with Haaland and potentially even greater heights. In terms of drawbacks, we're negating the commercial pull and potential of Haaland, virtually guaranteed resale value, that connection between player and fanbase because City fans aren't going to flock up to be buying Kane shirts, global fan outreach, longevity of an asset etc.
Again all risks, longevity? Huge risk considering his career so far and agent. A lot of money talk which for these kind of transfers I’m not sure why we care. Neither will be for peanuts and sometimes to get the best you have to pay the money. It’s against our strategy but I imagine there’s times they will break that, same with Messi last year.

Many want Haaland as he is younger, the point is there’s a very good chance he doesn’t stay with us all his career. If you could guarantee me that I’d sway more to him. I just don’t get the Kane hate. Goal scoring machine

Perhaps harsh and maybe uncalled for, on my part. A thought based on an observation, and being one that hates blanket statements, poor form to make a sweeping remark like that. Part of me does wonder that, but i take back the way i said it.

I'm sure the club will bring a top striker in. If it is Kane, for a price they are happy to pay, great. I struggle to see it, but so what, time will tell and I'll happily hold my hands up and be wrong.

So you don’t want him because he’s been crap for England? I hate to break it to you but England are often garbage. He is a striker with zero service. He will get plenty of that with us. Messi has never pulled Argentina through to anything meaningful? Completely irrelevant considering his club career.
Keeps getting missed but Kane was the highest assister last year, top goal scorer. All for a poor team with people peddling the myth he’s injury prone. People need to take a moment and look at his numbers, for bloody Spurs of all teams too and realise there’s nobody better in the prem minutes to goals now Aguero has gone. He will finish as the premier league all time leading goal scorer.

If he were to leave us, so be it. You can't sign players fearing the day they leave. If Haaland were to sign, score plenty of goals then leave while we recoup close to what we paid for him, it's a success.

Kane is a fantastic player. but the fact that Haaland exists dampens alot of the enthusiasm you'd normally have. On one hand you have Mr. Tottenham who alot of fans would struggle to build up any real connection with and on the other you have a 20 year old wonderkid who's father captained our club and seems to have a real affinity to us. The only player that could fill Sergio's boots and have that relationship and adulation that fans had for him is Haaland.

If Kane stays where he is and Haaland doesn't come to the premier league we are probably no worse off than where we are now. Probably no other premier team is going to improve up front either.
We will still be one of the top teams in Europe and probably favourites for the Premier league as things stand.
It would be a great test for Pep to take the current team, plus some of the youth players, and get them to attain the levels they are at into next season.
If Kane and Haaland dont sign for a premier league team, I dont think we are any worse off.

I think you are naive if you think fans wouldn’t connect to Kane the second he’s scoring for fun for us. Christ I remember being at Birmingham away on Andy Cole’s debut singing his name after scoring a goal! Football fans are fickle mate.

I wouldn’t not sign Haaland because he may leave, it’s just a counter point to people thinking because of his age we’d get more out of him that Kane. I think you’d get a similar amount of time for both

Fuck me I bet you`re not a Brian Kidd fan either, based on that nonsense !!!
