Does he even suit City, I mean he’s a fantastic striker but City usually dominate possession and could be doing with a natural fox in the box, instead of Haaland who enjoys a bit of space up front. I’m sure he’ll still score goals but could be square pegs round holes kinda thing.

More likely to be the end of Jesus, with Alvarez coming in as well.

As much as these stories look promising, I still think convincing Bernardo to re-sign is the bigger priority.

If signing Haaland meant Silva left, then I'd prefer we kept Silva.

I know City haven't steered it. Interestingly, Craig Hope is the first name on the Jack Gaughan article.

Craig is VERY connected up in the North East and with Newcastle.

Amanda Staveley and her husband recently visited City on a fact-finding tour of the training ground.

I can well believe Craig has been steered a piece of info and Jack basically got looped in by the desk as the City patch reporter and has assisted.

Makes me laugh this, whenever you sign any player you give them a contract of a chosen length and the risk is that they may see the contract out and walk away. Of course we wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to go to Spain in 5 or 6 years, we have heard Pep say time after time that if a player wants to leave they just need to knock on his door with an acceptable offer.

On the other hand what if he hits the ground running and Pep extends, if we won 4 titles and were getting to Champions league (hopefully winning them). Then would he really walk away for it?

Wonder if this means Sterling will leave either this summer or next. De bruyne is going no where, but Sterlings £300k a month may be a struggle if you add another £350k for Haaland. Will have knock on effects on other squad places

We have already removed Sergio and Torres from the wage bill, with probably Ferna and one more from Jesus/Sterling (if he doesn’t sign a new deal) to come. Plenty of wiggle room

That's not entirely correct, as others have alluded to Haaland, and what he is paid, may impact what others expect they are worth.

Regardless, all I was saying was if given the choice of each in a hypothetical situation, I would pick Bernardo over Haaland. But others mileage may vary!

There's no need to pick Haaland over Bernardo: they aren't mutually exclusive in any way shape or form.

Both players would be better off being in the same team.

Worrying about what impact Haaland may have on other players' salary expectations if we sign him is a waste of energy.
