Of course I know my "istree" but for most football started in 1992 and if you suggested that the likes of Preston or Huddersfield had won "the league" I suspect many a young fan would tell you to fuck off. But then how many of them were brought up waiting eagerly to get their copy of "Shoot" each week or actually enjoying going reading the "Rothmans"

I studied the Rothmans League Book as a kid as if it was my catechism. Me and 'our kid' would test each other constantly on the minutiae, and after 5 or 10 happy minutes, it would descend into an argument; get the book out to resolve things; agree on the answer, and THEN, start fighting.
