The mail:
Manchester City are prepared to make Haaland the highest-paid player in England with a salary in excess of £500,000 a week

Not that they would know and are making this up but 500k a week is not even the highest paid in Manchester let alone Englanf. PR7 on 800k a week

I doubt that it's true, but it's a great headline. Now Ronny will be demanding more :)

The worst programme on TV is that half-hour segment from 7.30am on SSN.
Now I know they have some shite on their channels but it really is genuinely awful.
Yesterday (Tuesday) they have this guy talking about us and our draw at Palace. Says he's a broadcaster. Other guest calls him out and says everyone knows you're a Liverpool fan.
Then today they have a guy from Kop TV saying that Liverpool need to tie Salah down to a new deal.
He says it tells you everything when John Stones is "earning 3 times a week more than Salah".
Now since Salah is currently earning over £220k a week I would suspect that to be BS, but they say it without fear of being challenged.

I watched ‘the best goals of 2016’ on sky the other day. I shouldn’t have bothered, I forgot that was the season we abstained.
For years my missus has said I am just paranoid and think everyone is against city when I have complained about either hardly ever been shown on highlights shows, best of shows, compilations etc. (Apart from when teams are scoring against us obviously!). It's only recently she has noticed when my son has become really into football and he's started asking "Mummy, why do they always show United, Liverpool and Chelsea but hardly ever City when City have won the most?" I've always made sure I hold back my views on the media and us, but when 10 year old kids notice it you know something is amiss

Neville ranting about City being state owned, he seemed to forget that CMC from China bought a stake in the City football group and Silverlake came onboard in 2020. Are both these organisations based within the UAE?

At this point now - I do think City need to take action to stop nobs like Neville, Delaney etc. spreading mis-information about 'state-ownership' ...it might not seem that important, but people are now easily led, and a quick look at social media shows how opposition fans believe it without question... it is damaging to our brand... for me, i'd want to see Neville give an on air apology tbh

City’s PR department are hilariously shit and have been for a long time.

I’m not sure it matters at this point. If we tried to stop it, they’d claim it’s because they’re right and we’re trying to hide it or something. People will believe whatever they want to believe and a retraction from Sky won’t change their mind. As long as it is anti-City they’ll believe whatever is said

I`ve been married to my wife for 46 years. 10 years ago she started watching the football when I was watching replays of the game. Then I noticed she`d been watching us on the TV when while I was at the match home or away.

Anyway she started getting into it like any glory hunter would. Where as before she`d look at me with distain when I watched the replays and call the officials cunts, now I think she agrees with me.

The DT, as usual, have their finger smack on the pulse of footballing issues. Another 'league table' appears with MCFC at the bottom. It's a league table of substitutions and we are miles behind. The gist of the article is that the players on the bench at Palace were the ones 'wot would have won it'! And that is all down to Pep's stubbornness! The same kind of obstinacy that has won the club how many trophies since he came? The reporter, were he to take on the role of PL football coach, would last a fraction of the time that Steve Coppell lasted at Maine Road.

The reporter totally ignores the Cancelo miss with the goal gaping, and the sheer bad luck when Kev hits the post and Mahrez's follow up is miraculously saved and put behind for a corner. But, hey, why print what actually happened when yer can speculate and spin a bit more negativity with a club you clearly don't favour.

BBC Breakfast news headlines includes the rags result amongst the real serious stuff that is going on in our world. Big build up about 'one of the best clubs in the world', star players (Ronaldo, of course) crap like that.
Nearly an hour later they are asking 'what has happened to United' as if it was some recent development not something that has gone on for years.
It only lasted about a minute despite the big build up and mainly blamed 'having such good players like Pogba and even Rashford on the bench for such big games'. Perhaps it's because they are crap and think more of their images than putting a shift in. Seems that they are looking at the manager to blame again.
United wankers.
BBC Sport Wankers.

There was a similar pre-match hullabaloo on local ITV and BBC news. I turned to Mrs Ewing and asked if we had the same for the Sporting game. I wouldn't know as I was making my way to The Etihad! It's the RDAHMeedya default whenever there is a Rag reverse - WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO UNITED! Anyone who has just a passing interest in the game could tell them to look up the word 'decline'!

I see the many subs used by the rags last night worked out well for them

Don't be negative, Dave. This reporter knows more than the world's best coach. We should get him on our books as a consultant adviser to Pep on how to succeed at football;)
Perhaps he is just back from the Winter Olympics where he was telling the British Curling team how to play their sport.
The DT football reporters were good and unbiased until Rory Smith came in with a bursting ambition to be like the tabloid writers but with longer words.
