The Conservative Party

A genuine question for anybody who voted for the current government, what are your thoughts on how they are doing and what do you see going forward?

Some people can't even afford food never mind fucking solar panels and heat pumps you out of touch billionaire ****.
I think you’re being a bit harsh here.
Given the focus of attention on Russian money flooding into the Tory party, it’s quite possible that Sunak has to pay out of his own pocket for his nice new tennis court, gym, and swimming pool at his very expensive large country house.
Its going to cost a lot- I hope he has enough to get by after.

which of the 12 large houses are you referring to

"Blah blah blah, and then something about Jeremy Corbyn".
I’m really intrigued as when I ask people at work they seem to quickly change the subject. Not sure why, I would like to have a genuine conversation on how they feel the government have done and what are their expectations going forward.

And, it’s not me getting annoyed with it, it’s them.

That was a mistake! "Who pays your rent?" "We pay your wages!"
Really shows the contempt they have for the average person. The thought that he could even come out with that, not understanding the persons situation and basically saying that ‘You are the shot off my shoe’ wreaks of ‘I am far better than you, get back to your menial job and don’t ever bother somebody like me again, you peasant’.

The world hasn’t changed one bit since those days of ‘Oliver’, just the illusion they try to silence you with.

Entitled, self serving, career government employees with many having attended Public Schools and Cat A Universities will never understand the hordes who live outside the Westminster bubble.
There’s another thread running on BM tonight ‘what would you un-invent.’ I think a good bet would be to un-invent the circumstances that led to the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot.

Photo op filling up one of his office teams car or does he expect us to believe that he a multi-millionaire drives a Kia Rio?

in what way?
Well, the stuff on NI seems useful but the fuel duty stuff is wrong - with the VAT a 5p per litre duty cut automatically becomes a 6p reduction and for most people that would be a 2 pounds fifty or 3 pounds reduction on a full tank, not a pound.

Splitting hairs I know and it’s pissing in the wind in terms of helping people, but it’s a fairly basic mistake on his part. He’s supposed to be a blue as well so I would have expected more from him.

This will be the one at terribly well-to-do Northallerton, N. Yorkshire where the local gentry can go about their business unhindered by the presence of any food banks and the disorderly queues of peasants associated with them.

The 5p is less than the extra VAT revenue on the increased fuel prices.

And no windfall tax.

He lives in Richmond which is Henley - on -Thames for N. Yorkshire though Northallerton is nice I grant you - both - like everywhere have their deprived areas - its just by degree's - Richmond's rough area 2022 is not Angel Meadow @ 1900 however I do know from a nephew who works in a tattoo parlour there that rents are prohibitably expensive for the average punter

The government should only take tax from the first £1 on a litre after that it should be tax free that would be huge, they must be taking in tax from fuel at the moment, this would massively help people.

Hello!

So, I voted Tory last time round for various reasons which I've mentioned on here previously so I won't bother going over those again.

I was under no illusions about Johnson, I always thought he was a dick but I genuinely thought he would have the sense to surround himself with highly capable people. Sadly, I was wrong, he has surrounded himself with useless lackeys.

I sure as hell won't be voting Tory again whilst Johnson is in charge.

Currently, Kier Starmer seems to be steering Labour towards more centrist policies so I can see me voting that way in the next election.
