Will Smith slaps Chris Rock at the Oscars

In West Philadelphia born and raised, knockin comedians out is how I spent most of my days.
Chilling out maxing relaxin all cool, at the oscars watching a buncha cunts and these fools.
When a comedian came out who wasn't very good.
Got me outta my seat and acting real hood.
I slapped one little prick and everyone got scared
I said don't be making jokes about my wife’s fucking hair.
Was that his acceptance speech?

Sounds a bit bel air to me!

Well I suppose some people like the idea that the world's going to hell and these things wouldn't have happened in their day, no matter how much evidence is put to them otherwise.
You have cited general violence statistics which are irrelavent. Its about behavior. The evidence for the decline of which is everywhere. I assert the same man wouldn't have behaved this way a mere 20 years ago in the same circumstances.

Rock has made snide comments a few times over the years about both the smiths, maybe, just maybe Will thought, fuck it.

Can happen to anyone, anyone saying they have never lashed out over family, well I don't believe that.

In this modern age is defending your wife with a slap, punch, duel seen as acceptable? Not really but still it will happen, it being the oscars or the local Aldi matters not.

Especially jokes that he found funny at first lol

20 years ago when newly married a friend of mine made a crass ingnorant comment that upset my wife dreadfully on a night out and I grabbed the **** by the scruff and warned him to pack it in or I would twat him properly, now tge same bellend (and close mate btw) makes similar crass ignorant comments and gwt called a fat prick for it.

So I obviously have gone in the reverse direction to smith.

At 26 I was more likely to be aggresive than at 46, age normally brings higher tollerance and calmness

Yes, I'm aware that you keep asserting an untestable claim for a reason. But men have punched other men for talking about their wives for ages, the fact it didn't happen on Oscars stage, or when it did security got in the way, tells us absolutely nothing. But I think we are going round in circles at this point.

Watch the stills. Both of them, smith in particular, are smirking.

It’s almost like they are trying to make Hollywood relevant again.
If it had been just the slap then i'd agree, but when he shouted (twice) "keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth" you could tell he wasn't messing around as there was hatred in his tone and on his face.

The whole thing was an embarrassment for the people involved, the entertaimment industry, everyone.
I understand that it was a shite comedian delivering a no need personal "joke" but deal with him outside if you need too. To do that so publicly on the night you've won an Oscar and then to follow it up with getting a standing ovation and that cringeworthy speech, just shows what a joke this whole world has become!

Also Rock's pause and him trying to process and stumble his way back into composure. As someone who has been interrupted doing public speaking and someone who has been slapped when I wasn't expecting it (not at the same time, mind) it felt too real.
