Those two songs he performed at JFK are two of the greatest performances I’ve seen. Still watch them regularly off YouTube.Hard to think looking at him now that this is the man who jetted across the Atlantic and played at both the Live Aid venues.
Nash the slash and joe Jackson. joe Jackson was a last minute fill in as the clash decided to do SNL.Ah yeah, Who’s Last. Which actually wasn’t. Some great shows they did that tour, Townsend still giving it plenty.
Not that I’m a fan of theirs but I think The Clash might’ve been on support act duties.
Ouch! I’d take Joe Jackson over the Clash personally but maybe not in an enormodome North American venue.Nash the slash and joe Jackson. joe Jackson was a last minute fill in as the clash decided to do SNL.
They were bottled off the stage.
I’m surprised there’s not a law against it, R.I.P PhilFucking disgusting the way his bandmates dug up his corpse to perform last weekend.
Desecrating his memory.
Don’t worry pal, he’ll live on forever. Fabulous stuff. Pure shivers.Fucking disgusting the way his bandmates dug up his corpse to perform last weekend.

I don't for one minute think Phil was forced to do the tour to be honest and I doubt any of them did it for the money.Fucking disgusting the way his bandmates dug up his corpse to perform last weekend.

Kindly stay north of the border, Thank youI saw the who that summer as well. Not long after the crush in Cincinnat.

I will fly over you bastards now and then.Kindly stay north of the border, Thank you
As long as you don’t land that’s fine, maybe just the Eastern edge. Or if you bring your tool bags you can driveI will fly over you bastards now and then.
lol, was there anything you missed?I was there for that as well ; )
Talking of which, this is him in his prime for me. I’d say his playing between 74 and 84 was his peak years. I didn’t want to go this last time for reasons you’ve hinted at, but can fully understand why fans like yourself did go. That said, I did go and see Hackett and he was really impressive with a set list that was a 70s wish list.I don't for one minute think Phil was forced to do the tour to be honest and I doubt any of them did it for the money.
Awesome band.
I agree about the memory comment to a certain extent. We saw them on this tour and it was more than a surprise to see him as he is. Perhaps in hindsight it would have been better to only have memories from the 80's, but then again, this was the last opportunity to see them together and the music is more than just Phil.
Ha, probably not much in those days. I saw the Who twice that year I think.lol, was there anything you missed?
With drone or later with Idaho ?I'll have to pull out the stubs one day and see just what I was getting up to back then ; )
I was there. Moving and marvellous music and musicianship by the entire band.Gone but not forgotten
