Anyone remember the great flagship policy that won them the last election?
Another PMQs goes by and again no mention of the ‘B’ word.

Hmmmm.. I can think of a C word for them.its busy going South mate - soon they won't mention the C word either

Liz's coronation celebrations as well. Meaning a few more less days of parliamentary scrutiny whilst the Liar in number 10 tries to suck farts out of her arse.Well we have had Covid parties, 19 and a war in Ukraine since then don’t you know. lots of fun and games and now we have an Easter break so we’ll leave the poor until
later.
No shortage of the other 'B' word.Anyone remember the great flagship policy that won them the last election?

He stands at the despatch box and proudly claims the achievement of taking 1.3 million children out of absolute poverty. (Probably not true)No shortage of the other 'B' word.
Bullshit from Johnson from start to finish of PMQs.
A litany of lies interspersed with pathetic digs at the opposition for not not doing things in spite of not being in power for 12 years. Trying to take credit for tackling illiteracy and innumeracy was particularly idiotic in that there are no kids in school now that were more than 4 years old when Labour were last in power. If there's a problem in schools there really is no one else to blame.
He just said processing 25,000 the war Is just over four weeks so that is processing less than a thousand a day. He was just asked how many have arrived, there was no coherent reply. Or I missed it
We have moved on to 201 baby deaths In Shropshire a tragic loss to there families. In - adequate maternity care.
I think where Johnson’s concerned there’ll always be room for the C word…its busy going South mate - soon they won't mention the C word either

That is an admission that there are, and were, millions of children in 21st century britain, who are and have been in absolute poverty.
What an extraordinary success story that is and so much better than labour have done in the last 12 years.
Tax cuts for the wealthy anyone??
He stands at the despatch box and either blusters or lies.
I rarely watch pmqs any more as I find it incredibly annoying and frustrating.
Why the fuck the speakers knowingly let politicians tell whoppers and ignore questions is laughable.
Because he wants to get hold of his peerage, like his daddy and unlike Bercow.
There isn't much he could do anyway, he doesn't have any real power when the tories have a majority and they could quite easily manufacture an excuse to replace him with someone like Nigel Evans.
Why the fuck the speakers knowingly let politicians tell whoppers and ignore questions is laughable.
Lies - because as he has said frequently, it is not his job to make sure that what is said is true.
The wilful avoidance of questions I don't know about.
Mostly there has never been an occasion when repeated and deliberate lies and evasion is the govt approach, and things haven't caught up with it yet. It wasn't needed under May, for example.
There's a code of conduct - lie deliberately to the Commons and a minister should resign. Johnson's cabal consider themselves above such niceties.
I'd have thought the speaker, whose role includes presiding over debate, and the adherence of the rules in the h.o.c would have a keen interest in ensuring facts, rather than fantasies were used to address questions.
I've obviously,been mistaken.
You'd think so, but it appears that the rules of the HoC don't cover the accuracy of what is said.
The Ministerial Code should do it, but that requires a degree of honour and respect. Who enforces it? The Prime Minister.
There have been a number of moves in the last 1-2 years to make lying have more serious consequences, including the a 100k petition to make it a crime. You'll be shocked that the govt decided not to put it forward as a law.
The Erskine-May rulebook says: “The Speaker’s responsibility for questions is limited to their compliance with the rules of the House. Responsibility in other respects rests with the Member who proposes to ask the question, and responsibility for answers rests with Ministers.”
Correcting the record is voluntary too, and can't be forced.
