If it was Putin or some African or Middle Eastern leader they’d be full of faux outrage. Channel 4, like it or loath it, invests hugely in the creative talents of this country and spends most of its cash here as well and it spends a lot of that cash ‘up north’.
It’ll now be sold off to a foreign company and just become a vehicle to pedal yet more shit shows from overseas. They’re absolutely shameless..

As if it needs to be sold to raise money anyway. £1 Billion valuation mooted in 2016, the last time they tried to flog it off. So most likely worth less than Chelsea football club, but worth far more in cultural impact on the country.

That kind of figure is fuckall in the grand scheme for funding anything, The government has no problem borrowing from the Bank it wholly owns.

All because of Channel 4 News challenges them and attempts to bring the government to account.

Which is daft because Channel 4 News is an ITN production. If Channel 4 News is cut back there will only be demand for similar programming on other channels.

Unreported world, weekly programme on Fridays covering stories from around the world that aren't widely reported is also an ITN production.

It’s just fucking daft that they have come out with this line about Channel 4 not being able to complete with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

All4 (formerly 4OD) is completely free to view, no TV licence required. Usually have complete box sets of their own original series, and stuff they buy in from America and have the Terrestrial rights for e. g. Big Bang or Frasier. I know these are old shows now, but saves you from buying a physical/digital box set or a netflix subscription if you want to watch them all and are prepared to put up with ads.

They also have a deal with Britbox where original tv series and film4 productions are listed there, and they generate additional revenue from Netflix by selling their original content to them.

Just yesterday it was revealed by Oxford University we lost £37 Billion to fraud during the pandemic, twice what was thought initially.

On top of the £37 Billion spent on track and trace.

They have stolen and embezzled £75 Billion of our fucking money.
