That pass with the outside of his foot was a work of art. That Iniesta/Laudrup style dribble on the line was glorious. And of course the assist.

He is a genius.

Still think the majority of people in this country don’t realise what Phil is going to become. When he hangs up his boots he’ll be unanimously considered the greatest player that this country has ever produced. And ‘restricting’ him at false 9 is going to aid that development. He has had the most ridiculously well-rounded football education.

He already has quite a few trademarks.

The Phil Foden turn is quite unique to him. Nobody better out there at taking the ball with his right foot and turning in one movement, taking the ball towards goal with his left.

The Phil Foden shimmy would you call it? I don’t know what to call it. Where he kicks the ball with the inside of his left foot, onto his right to jink around the defender and continue his dribble. He does this more than anyone else out there.

More combined goals and assists than Ronaldo at the same age.

In 10 minutes

1) Made a beautiful assist by dribbling through 2-3 Atletico players near the opponent's box in small space

2) Dribbled through 4-5 Atletico players from RW (reminded me his masterpiece against Liverpool in 2020 / 2021 Anfield) and then Savic made a save

3) Made a fantastic cross to KDB from RW and froze whole Atletico's defense with one beautiful touch, then KDB couldn't finish it as good as Phil's pass deserved but still it was a great moment..

That's how you win big games, with the big players like Phil <3

Its' funny Atletico players were more afraid of Grealish and kicked him whenever they could :D <3

Some people out there rate Saka ahead of our Phil. Try to process this without hurting your brain.

But deary me, he's just a little bit special, isn't he? If he keeps his head in the game he'll go down as one of the true greats.

Still debatable what's his "BEST" position:

LW -> has produced most from this position and became regular starter while playing there

False 9 -> some good games, but in overall very unstable and less productive

RW -> Pep uses him as a RW not that much, but in some big games he has made match-winning performances. Today and against Liverpool at Anfield in 2020 / 2021 season, but as I understand Pep prefers not to use him as a RW

LCM -> CL final and it was a big mistake from Pep, should have had more experience before playing there

RCM -> Still hasn't played there and I think it can be his best position..

In overall, Phil is fully read for midfield role and it suits him better. Today we saw, how he can create chances in small spaces and today it's more difficult to find such player, then an attacker - who is able to finish chances created by playmakers like Phil..

One day, I hope we will see Jack as LCM and Phil as RCM.. One day...

Brilliant cameo, full energy and jinking runs and great assist for the goal. I hope he starts on Sunday.
