Definitely heard a whistle. Took me a few seconds to realise the goal was standingI definitely heard a few whistles too, thought the ref had blown for an infringement, seemed like a few players thought the same because it was such an easy header for them to score.
my immpressionDo you have the stats to prove that, or is it just your impression?
stadia were being rebuilt in 94-95 but it’s not my letter and the crowd was short of LFC’s capacity. Their opening PL crowd that season was 30,017 and March 19 Anfield held 38,906 for a game v Utd so, ultimately, the letter writer was accurate in the LC semi being significantly under capacity (about 13000 below). I think it’s ridiculous when fans criticise low crowds of others, my point by posting this was to show it can and has happened to most clubs. Those criticising City need to recognise that all clubs can ‘not sellout’ on occasion. It used to be the norm, now it’s the exception I guess. We should have been in that Semi, Palace had a goal drought but beat us 4-0 int he QF, they ended their 9 game drought just before they played us in the FA Cup via our mates lowly Lincoln.
In 1995 stadiums were being rebuilt not the best comparison year.
Well done for continuing to raise this attack Eric. Sorry you and the injured family were caught up in this horrible incident.@stuart brennan I took you up on your offer of DMing you yesterday and am still available to discuss the Scouse attack on Block 109 if you’re still interested. Cheers.
PS, I want to say a big thank you to everyone for your support yesterday, it was much appreciated Blues. Cheered me up.
Cheers Tim, much appreciated mate. CTIDWell done for continuing to raise this attack Eric. Sorry you and the injured family were caught up in this horrible incident.
I saw it on Twitter
Would have been of it was the other way around.
OliVARpool has form with that against us.Anyone think Grealish was fouled on that corner and could have maybe got a head on it if he wasn’t? They were desperate to give the scousers a penalty the other week for wrestling off the ball against Brighton, surely it was more of the same.
You wouldn't last one punch ladWhen he stops with his shit house comments on the wind up.
He is like a talk sport presenter whom you would never get fed up of punching in the face.
Not shit. Just had another bad day in an FA Cup semi final at Wembley...Is there ever a game we don’t win where we don’t try and find a dodgy decision? We can’t win every game. We mainly lost because our keeper was shit.
That worked out well! Seriously, what kind of dickhead does that?I definitely heard the whistle as the corner was being taken. I was at the back of the lower tier, to the right of the goal. It seemed to come from my right. So almost certainly from a City fan, probably in the corner trying to distract the corner taker.
Could be worse.Record in FA Semis now won 11 lost 6, we hadn't lost for one since 1932 and 4 come along at once.
Could be worse.
Chelsea are in the final for the 3rd straight season. They've been in the final in 5 of the last 6 seasons now. Should they lose to Liverpool they'll be losing finalists in 4 of the last 5 times they've featured in the final.
While most Blues present did respect the minute’s silence, and some of it may have been concourse singing, there were loads in the ground behind the goal who started chanting City and they knew what they were doing Tim, and that was fucking shameful, as were those booing. I hate the dippers with a passion, I hate their victim mentality (such as booing the national anthem), but there’s a time and a place if people want to be disrespectful cunts, and yesterday wasn’t it.
I also thought our support was shocking yesterday. Row upon row in where I was were sat on their hands the entire game, but let’s be honest it was the same everywhere. We can take the piss out of the dippers being Norwegians, we can give it “spot the scouser on the kop” but they were very fucking loud yesterday, from before the kick off, and all of them seemed to be singing, we never get that, too many can NEVER be arsed. Someone in front of me turned round to my 13 year old who was angry at the fact nobody was singing and said “well we all support City in our different ways”, quick as a flash my 15 year old said “yeah but not by fucking telepathy”. On this occasion he wasn’t told off for swearing.
I find it hard to criticise our lack of numbers yesterday but it was at best disappointing. My lads said it was “pathetic” and I tried explaining to them that when people criticise our support and history our support from around 1978 to 2011 was our history (of that period), and we were famous for our loyalty; “not any more dad” was the response, and it was bloody hard to argue.
As regards the team selection and performance, it was really disappointing but tbh I was more gutted last Sunday than yesterday, the PL IS more important and it hurts more when you batter the opposition and don’t win than it does to lose when you don’t turn up, players and fans. At least there’s one less PL game to squeeze in now. Not great but it’s a crumb. Let’s hope Chelsea win today and give the dippers a really hard game, and a beating.
As for the dippers fans, as loud as they were in the ground, they were unbearable cunts outside it, the only thing worse than a bad loser is a bad winner. Our group of 4 was aged 13,15, 63 and 71, hardly a threatening mob, but the number of dippers who came up to us and tried to provoke trouble was despicable. I thought they were actually worse than the villa fans at Wembley.
Not a good day, a fucking shocker, but let’s hope the injured and tired players recover and regroup and win the 2 remaining trophies. And let’s hope our fans do our job, in our own fucking ways of course
I think they’ll win providing the wrap up their top 4 spot asap. They should be able to rest and rotate leading up to the final. Enjoy the sort of fitness advantage that Liverpool had on SaturdayChelsea will win it so we’ll play them in the community shield.
