Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

As tempting as it is to some on here, let's try not to just give out mindless personal abuse to the players. Criticise them by all means; there's a few of them that deserve criticism. But let's try to keep the insults out of things.
Bit late for that, it started about 3:35.

Calmed down now, if we go on to win either the league or thr Champions League, resting the players today was the right decision, if we don’t go on to win either, it was a poor decision. I’ll judge at the end of the season.

Considering how much more rest most of their team had, we did well. If you look at the chances for Sterling and Jesus we could have got something from this game.
Finally a sensible comment. Overall they didn't have any more chances to speak of than we did. And while few like to admit it they closed us down extremely well in the first half. It was always going to be tough if they were up for it, and they were.

Could have done without the mistake by Steffen but it happens, but more inexplicable for me was why Jesus didn't try and chip the keeper. We're always poor at one on ones. We didn't do enough going forward in the first half and did look very jaded. Emerson nearly let one in on Wednesday but got away with it.

Remember next season we have Alvarez who seems to be very highly rated, and hopefully Haaland.
