Friday 22nd April

01:01 log number 2

Much excitement earlier today when word spread around the Aerodrome that there was to be a major announcement. I was up early fortunately and after a breakfast of bacon sarnies (with red sauce) knocked up on my camper grill, a banana sliced up into an Aldi version of Müller light yoghurt and a large mug of coffee, I made my way stealthily towards the control tower.

I was within 25 yards of it when an official looking suit came out and proceeded to launch a volley of insults and profanities in my direction. The way he spoke to me was unacceptable and quite without compunction.

He asked how I didn’t get fed up camping out at the Aerodrome every summer as soon as Tolmie posts a link to Would I Lie to You? by power ‘90’s pop combo, Charles and Eddie.

I told him about the “It’s Quiet” threads. He asked how such a thread can keep so many people entertained. I explained that “Everybody’s got their history. On every page a mystery.” I’m not sure he was following.

Anyhow, it turns out that the big announcement was that Erik Tent Peg had agreed to manage that lot come the summer. Quite ironic given the incident with the alsations and the west wing of the tent a few days ago.

The only plane that landed was a private jet - number J-12738 - as we all know, it belongs to the co-owner of Polska Sklep Superstore on Liverpool Road so unless there was a diversion to the Rhine/Ruhr region en route from Szczecin to Barton, young Erling hasn’t arrived today.

I settled in with two six packs of Red Stripe lager and ordered a lamb jalfrezi, half rice, half chips, keema naan and a pair of onion bhajis through Über Eats.

Tomorrow is another day. Nighty night campers.
I'm on my way to Dino Falls golf at the Trafford driving range with the lad. When we're on the first tee I'll give you a wave

Is that Rudiger? @Vialli98 you heard anything?

If Chelsea can get the ownership stuff sorted in the next month or so, I think he's staying. If there's a delay in the process, he might not want to wait and let the opportunity to land at Real Madrid pass.

Chelsea journos have always insisted that he wants to stay but that it comes down to timing.

Surely if he was staying it would be sorted by now, you just dont let it get to this point as a club, or he has no intention of stayng. He'll be a huge loss for Chelsea.

Thought an offer from Madrid is something no player turns down?

Chelsea can't offer him anything because of the sanctions. Now, reportedly each remaining bidder has made extending his contract a top priority, but in this weird in between period where we effectively have no owners, he can't be offered a new contract. He wants to stay, but his agent is doing what he's supposed to do and that's to court attention and get him as many offers as possible. It's why I say if we lose him it's because the timing didn't align for us.

Currently the timeline for the ownership situation is mid-May at the latest. If we have new owners by then, there's a good chance he stays. If there is a further delay in the process, I can imagine he might not want to chance it and lose the offer from Real Madrid.

Sticky situation with these sanctions.

I mean I could be wrong and he might be desperate to join them. I'm essentially just parroting what the Chelsea journos have been telling us in the last couple of weeks. Real Madrid have been interested in him since last summer. According to reports, he's very settled at Chelsea and in London. The sticky point was always the money and last year him and the club were quite far apart in the numbers each side would accept, but again, it sounds like both Rudiger and club were at a much happier number around the time the sanctions hit.

Ah right maybe he see what Madrid are offering him then he has something to come back to Chelsea with to match it or better it or he is off?

Could you pick up a couple of bits for me. I feel I could be here for a while.

  • a tin of Princes corned beef
  • a couple of Soreens (I do believe it’s buy 1 get 1 half price in Farmfoods)
  • a dozen Warby’s barms
  • three boxes of Heineken - bottles not cans - I’m not an animal
  • a six pack of Andrex bog rolls (3 for shitting, 3 for the other)
  • a couple of pork pies
  • a bag of tangerines
  • a copy of the April edition of Razzle
  • some paracetamol
  • some Dove hand cream
  • 4 tins of beans

Yeah supposedly his initial demands were close to 300k a week. Chelsea weren't going to give him that. The offer on the table was something like 150k a week. He rejected that immediately. There was a story a couple of months ago that Real Madrid offered 400k a week and we were all like, well okay then, let him go. I think between 200k and 250k is what it's going to take to get him to stay. Real Madrid could offer him more than that as a free agent.

Is this still the Haaland topic?

Anyone?? View attachment 40961

Lol sorry, I'll dip back out of here and take the Rudiger chat back to the Chelsea thread.

Question to you lot about Haaland though, do you think landing him would you make you unstoppable or do think there could be issues with meshing the type of striker he is with City's style of football? Or somewhere in between?
