Who should we sign at left back?

Zinchenko, Cancelo and Ake can play there but none of them are hugely convincing for me although none of them do a bad job either.

I'm surprised we've not managed to find a youth player who can at least play left back when we're playing the likes of Norwich, Watford etc.

For me it is buy a right back, Spence then move Cancelo across, Cancelo is the best left back in the league, all his best displays have been on the left, with only one bad performance.
 
it's a problem that keeps flaring up season after season and the so called (curse) but the dream would be a Kyle Walker with a left foot.

i like the lad at forest, Max Lowe ? but we need a ready-made world-class left back

Agreed I feel he's now actually better at LB than RB. Wonder if he had his ultimate choice what he'd choose... LB does allow him to be more of a penetrating threat also with a quick shot from that side. IDK. I guess the old rule book that lefties have to play on the left is out the window.
 
Just buy an absolute top level.. or dont buy at all (,and just keep playing Cancelo/Zinch there). it will just be another Angelino scenario then.
So my suggestion would be Guerreiro, if not his injury issues keeps popping up.. (feels like he has had a lot of muscle issues the last couple of years) Hes one of the few that is world class in multiple roles as a left back as well. Inverted, wide, could play tucked in in a 3 back in the build up as well. Theo Hernandez is a more of a wing player only and not as flexible.

And Cuc is not there yet, and has few pure top level attributes. The others on the list might develop into it, but it not there yet and will be similar to the Angelino-scenario that I brought up earlier.

And I feel, as an avid La Liga watcher, Gaya is too small for the Prem really.. and not physical enough with pace, power etc to make up for it either. He doesn't really have that great of a left foot either, great character similarly to Cuc though.

I would love Porro "back" for rightback-rotation and just play Cancelo left..

Theres a lot of (other) priorities in this team, maybe with Gundos alleged ongoing issues as well etc.

Just noticed Marcelo is leaving RM. As some kind of stop gap, 1-2 year deal and give us breathing room to invest in a lb next year to which he can help mentor? Just a thought always liked him as a player…

Yep totally agree with this. Someone like Kyle Walker-Peters would be perfect as he can play LB if needed too if we wanted to play him and Walker together.
