Even as a City fan I have nothing but respect for his achievements at United. He literally built that club from the ruins of Munich. I met him several times. He was unassuming and a total gent , as was Joe Mercer. I was at that game for This is Your Life. Was it 4-3 to them?

It was a re-arranged dead rubber game and both sides had skeleton squads because of injuries. I remember a lot of crowd trouble in the Kippax and the atmosphere was muted for a Derby.

My 21 yr old stepson has been a rag ST holder for years. Not been to the last 4 home games " because they're fucking shit.
