History is littered with stories of managers risking semi fit players and it back firing. From Ronaldo in 1994, Kane in the CL final right through to Stones and Alaba last week. I can remember tonnes of times players being risked, I can't remember one that actually worked. All the developments in the game and yet clubs keep gambling.

Personally I think this is bluster and Walker won't be seen this season, if it not be prepared to be hearing about plenty of hindsight.

Cancelo as LB would be my preferred option. Strange but he is currently doing a better job in that position than RB.

Absolutely. I'd rather play Cancelo on the left and Stones at RB, but of course Stones is out. And Ake can't seem to play RB either, so we're kind of stuck with Cancelo at RB unless Walker is fit.

All a balancing act...play him and he needs to rest/breaks down would be a disaster with the PL games coming up unless John is likely to be fit in the next few days.

Personally I'd put Kyle on the bench and if we need him in the last 25-30 mins play him then.
