We need to channel that pain and use it to drive us to PL glory.

6th in 10 seasons. Incredible if we can do it.

Then it is time to sort this squad out and go again. The CL is hard to win. I thought the win home and away v PSG was a coming of age. Then we lost the final. I thought would drive us this season. It didn't. We bottled it last night. You can't miss so many chances and concede so many from so few and expect to be successful at this level.

Undoubtedly Real are a team with lady luck shining on them but they knew they could beat us and we played like we knew they could too. This City side, with the money spent should not be losing to that Real team.

We talk about Liverpool's run to the final but we played Sporting, an Atleti side 4th in La Liga and a Real Madrid side with a midfield that can barely move.

We play sublime football at times, but we need to temper that with some reality, when you are leading by a goal in the 89 min I do not need to see gung ho attacking football I need to see some street savy in the corner protecting the ball, I need to see our players getting "cramp" I need to see us winding down the clock , I have seen us play sublime football, 5/6 mins of anti football will not spoil my opinion of the team, and how we play beautiful football it's that lack of knowledge that annoyed me last night .

i thought the Atletico match we knew how to go through winning ugly

last night it was like we wanted the glory when all we had to do was hold on

kick the ball into row z, keep it in the corner, go down as soon as someone breathes near you
 
Weird, I dont like the chumps league, never have, & I was quite relaxed going into last nights game, not really that bothered if we won or lost, but to loose like that!
why couldnt we just loose the easy way 2-0 down at half time conceed another in the second half or something?
All my life as a city fan at say 2-0 up with 5 minutes to go There is always a nagging doubt in my mind "what if they get a goal now we could still loose this" after last night that feeling is never going away for the rest of my life.
 
Mad thing is, i only want us to win the UCL to shut all the mongs up who say "peps a failure, only won 1 with messi" , " never be a great team until you win it" etc, when in reality its just a cup comp where anything can happen as we have experienced over the years, it means or proves little really as Chelsea shown last year, best team on the day but overall nothing special, just my opinion but as long as we manage to remain kings of England, i will be happy!! Lets push on now blues, 4 games, MCFC ok.

Still winning the premier league is good season for us. We need to learn from our mistakes and the players need to focus the remaining matches.
 
Toward the end of that game we were both physically and mentally shot. If we’re unable to retain possession, then the lack of pace and legs in midfield is evident and then the frailties in defense become exposed. The best teams know that the sooner they get us playing up and down the length of the pitch, then they’ll get their chance.

I’m afraid we’re stuck in a position where our football is designed to win by suffocating the opponent in their half, but it has an inherent design fault when the opponent has legs in the middle and pace up front. Buying a striker in the summer should see us take our chances, but it will ironically expose the midfield more.

I can empathise with you - my mum died in 1991 and I flew from New Zealand to England and back in 7 days - totally numb both ways. It didn't help when the dickheads in customs at Perth, Australia on my way home were confiscating batteries in case we blew the plane up - it was the time of the first Gulf War. We were in transit for gods sake on a flight that originated in London, why wait for the last leg to Auckland?
I refused to give up my batteries and they went on board with the captain - quickly returned to me with lots of bottles of miniature spirits because I had stuck up for sanity.

Certainly no throwing bodies at the ball last night! Defence was poor.
 
We've had far worse than last night, pleat dancing at maine Road,lomas keep the ball in the corner, winning at Stoke and still going down so head up blues we go again. Then again should I get a pair of zebra pants and have a protest coz we lost like the entitled twats No because its still and will all ways typical CITY
