I like this kid, but i've a bad feeling he is being bought as a replacement for Bernardo. He has been asked to play more of a hybrid role this season, dropping into the 6 alongside Rodri to develop play and offer more bodies especially against teams like Liverpool. That is something that De Jong specialises in and it makes sense we would look for someone like him, but i think it probably means Bernardo will be allowed to leave.

Maybe, but can they afford to given the rebuild they need and would he want to have at least a year out of the CL?I'd love De Jong. My only concern is that while we're haggling with Barcelona, United come in and offer something ridiculous like 80 mil and 400kp/w for him.
If he chooses United and a 400K pay day that says more about him. I wouldn't worry, that's a team in a rebuild state nor playing CL. We are a much better side offering CL and a more or less open spot to compete.I'd love De Jong.
