The real test started when Bobby humiliated the rags twice! we have been doing well ever since and we would still be properly managed when Pep leaves. Don't forget the brilliant youth set up also. Everything is in place to ensure success, I would bet that in the next 10 years we would win at least 7 pl titles.
That's the spirit!

Longevity is the name of the game.

I frankly think its bollocks. Tell me how many of our top players have gone that route. I can think of Leroy and er Eric Garcia.
Bernie himself wanted out 12 mos ago!

Is he going to sign a new deal? If not, then will just value everything be higher than it is now?

He is too valuable in the market to allow City to simply let him run it down.

Oh, and I LOVE the guy!

Really hope he stays he is a pleasure to watch. World class and if anything criminally under rated by non City fans.

and reason enough for him to want a move to a club that will build around him.
No team he would ever want to play for would ever build their team around him.

Feels like, if he leaves City, a top Spanish team or Benfica are his only serious options, although I could also see him at PSG, even though any deal between the clubs would be difficult.

He was unhappy being away from his family and home due to covid , he was never unhappy being with us as he made clear

Ive been on that page for a long time....KDB is a wonderful talent, not quite what he was,but still capable of brilliance.
Unfortunately his presence is not suited to Bernardo's game, and he will never fully shine while they are in the same 11.

I honestly believe the fact he has been positionally 'sacrificed' over the past couple of seasons in favour of KDB was partly responsible for his unhappiness, and reason enough for him to want a move to a club that will build around him.
He doesnt want to leave because of kev , fucking lol , he made it clear he missed home and family in the pandemic, he knows he is valued

I know having a patched up defence didn't help but you can clearly see how open and vulnerable we become when Bernardo isn't doing all the unnoticed work in midfield. Doesnt matter who we bring in this summer with Haaland and alvarez, if we lose Bernardo we're a significantly weaker squad and will have to change our approach

So important to our cohesion and our press, without his superhuman endurance and efforts, not to mention his technical brilliance and inspirational character....this team would be significantly weaker and poorer.

The man has the heart of a lion.

There was one point in the game last night where Bernie didn't close the man down , but just moved to the point where he knew the player would go to, and 5 seconds later Bernie had the ball, it's that level of subconscious football skill we would desperately miss if Bernie were to leave .

Hoping he stays beyond his current contract, but he seems pretty adamant he wants to go back to his family in Portugal or at least be closer to them

Will be a massive loss, this guy is incredible, one of the best players I nthe world who largely doesn't get any credit

Replacing him will be as hard as replacing anyone

Gonna enjoy his brilliance while he's still here
