There will inevitably come a point where they’re not a graveyard - they’ve got cash to burn and that won’t end. I actually do believe Ten Hag will be something of a turning point for them.

However your first point stands. They’re light years behind, and it’ll take a long time before they do catch up even after they finally turn a corner.

It’s an interesting one, it took Pep a season to implement his methods & rejuvenate an ageing squad, whilst also offloading a couple of club legends, quite remarkable really when you think about it, although his starting point seemed a lot healthier, in terms of cultural change, squad profile and club hierarchy. Tent peg is inheriting a cluster fuck of a situation, an ageing strike force, no midfield & a shambles of a defence, poor club structure & a scattergun transfer policy, not to mention the most entitled fan base in world football, I’d say he’s got his work cut out & it’s looking like 2-3 seasons before they can even think about challenging, who’s to say we won’t be even further down the road by then
 
If he is actually available it makes sense to get him, replacement for gundo. Good age and fits the profile.
 
Frenkie de Jong is a wonderful player. Fucking over united is just the cherry on top. Remember when we swept in for Bernardo and left them reeling? More of that please.

They can have keep gazumping us for the likes of Alexis and Fred. Fair trade.
 
Was never sold on him anyway. Rodri better at the physical stuff. Need Neves maybe although he didn’t stand out last night.
 
Inevitable they will sign a couple of players of note. The players who do go though are pretty much committing career suicide. De Jong, for example. Can see the pull of his ex manager, the new project and what would be insane wages. He gives up the chance of trophies galore if he goes there over us though.
 
It's simple, we pursue a player that wants us and only us. We appreciate him but till he says he wants us, it's off. He will have to settle for non UCL football, and the bigger factor is, there is no guarantee that rags make CL following year too.

I’d only be bothered if we were really in for him and he went there instead because I can’t see why we would lose out to anyone right now let alone the shambles over there.
 


Frenkie wants to stay. He has told the locker room this. He's annoyed by the rumours and he has nothing advanced with anyone. Xavi considers him untransferable but understands the financial situation. Barcelona await for an offer with United, City, Bayern and PSG interested
