It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

i would like to see us bring Porro back to be honest, especially for 20m euros?

I think it would be a good move, but question whether Porro would want to go from a starting role in a champions league side to a back up position, knowing he's competing with Walker and Cancelo.

Especially when we're hearing rumours of clubs like Real sniffing around.

He would have had a release clause whether he signed for City or Madrid.
I think it's pretty clever of him/agent.
He can demand a new improved contract when the release clause can be activated.
Madrid wanted to put a stupid 1b figure on his head, this would have helped him come to City imo.

Whatever has been decided this has to be activated either way we get some great goals & trophys hopefully or he does the same & signs a bigger deal he cant lose neither can City

If he goes City get goals, trophys & 3 times the amount back in transfer fee???

Remember he has to trigger it but we are years away from that so enjoy the moment & time together or its over in a blink of the eye

Just look at today with 93.20 & Sergio back who thinks that was 10 years ago its fucking frightening

But would he start at Madrid anyway?

Probably has a better chance than at City. Carvajal has had pretty big injury issues and their other options are Vazquez (failed winger) and Nacho (CB).

Discounting the argument around game time - playing for Real is always going to be a massive draw for a Spanish player. I expect he would be more forgiving of competition playing for the biggest team in his homeland.

The rumor says there is a release clause of significantly more than €150M, nearing €200M.
How some people here interpret the rumor: he is plotting a next move to Spain.
What they’re ignoring: the rumors also says Raiola wanted ANY club interested in him to add the same release clause, be it Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern.
It’s baffling to me that anyone would think it’s the 21 year old kid’s own idea to put a clause, and not the agent’s, who has a history of doing that.
They’re also ignoring that said agent is dead and will not be here when the release clause kicks in to push anything. There will be no one whispering on his ears, he will decide what he wants. Several Raiola clients stayed at their clubs even with him leaking interest from other clubs in the media to get a conversation going. Imagine with him gone.
They’re also ignoring the obvious: which club is going to pay €200M + fees for a single player that would also become the highest earner of any club? The answer is, none.
If you think once Haaland has become the poster boy for the strongest league in the world he will be thinking about leaving, you’re being very insecure. Time to be cocky is now
Also to consider, which many do not seek to ve taking i to account, just because a release clause is met the player isn't obligated to leave. PSG could offer to pay it on day 3 and Haaland can "Nah. Fuck off."

If a player is happy and wishes to stay, a release clause doesn't mean anything. These players aren't slaaves. They can't be bought and sold against their wishes.

So it was unlikely to be Bellingham, now even moreso.

Poster above mentions Saka - don’t think we’ll go for another winger.

Maybe Pedri, could be a good shout. Rice another one that’d boil piss. Can’t think of many more, really.
