He’s played about 70% of his professional games at left-back
Actually Cancelo now plays much better on the left...Who would you play instead of Zinc then???
We are struggling like fuck with injuries and he's the best option we had today.
Ake obviously isn't fully fit.
I'm not saying Zinc is the greatest left back but he's done a very good job when called upon.

I'd get Rico Henry, don't have to have a world class player in every position. Apparently Rico Henry is like a 6/7 out of ten each game. Can defend and attack. Don't think Brentford would want alot for him. He's got pace as well.
You saw him making no attempt on TWO dangerous balls in the air one on one in the box...keeping Bowen on for the 2nd goal...saving a ball on the end line putting it back into danger for no good reason...failing to shield for a goal kick resulting in a turnover...not saying he doesn't try...just not a natural LB...It's not like he was helped by a Center Back in Laporte that bites on every ball that comes his way, or by the 37-year-old CM who is clearly washed, or the poor goalkeeping of Ederson.

Conventional left back not what pep wants, need to be able to move inside and distribute the ball almost as a mid
Zinch isn't bad but not strong enough defensively, he tends to go down the line like a more natural full back as well
Stones can do it at right back as he is good defensively but can also carry the ball into mid
Cancelo hasn't played well for months either, started the season great but not at that level now, all the swapping won't be helping him, nor playing alongside Laporte

I saw him giving his all, and trying to make things work.
He was very good against Real in the first leg I thought. But has been poor in the past couple of games, giving the ball away and being in really poor positions defensively.
But defensively we are a poorer side without the recovery pace of Walker. In normal circumstances Cancelo at LB would have licence to push up and Walker would be covering that ball in behind.
Our defensive line has been horrific which is understandable considering who is playing. Ake coming in at LCB will make Zinchenko 100 times better. We need another full back but in addition to Zin.

Its evident that some players need a signing that will challenge for their position - Eddy definitely needs one, and we need either a LB or RB (dependent on if Pep switches Cancelo back to LB)
And then we need a box to box CM to replace fernandinho
Fingers crossed we have targets lined up and we can move swift and quickly to get them in for a full pre-season and then lay a marker in the community shield against the dippers

I didn't see him do anything wrong at Wolves during the week, he had a bad game today, but I could equally look at Laporte and Dinho and say they did as well.
