Didn't Romero say a few days ago that it was 95% done?
Was that before or after our £100m purchase? In addition, to support your hypothesis, Khaldoon said last year, that due to the lack of money in the industry, we'd have to be 'cuter' (i think that was the phrase) at bringing players in.
Even though we're one full season after lockdowns, maybe revenues remain a bit low?
How do you know then hahaDone deal and I’m not itk
We did sell a lot to bring him in though. Think we let go of over 50 million worth of players, admittedly on lower wages. Was that before or after our £100m purchase?
It doesn’t bother me either way, but saying that and then splurging £100m on a player we didn’t 100% need seems slightly extravagant. We did sell a lot to bring him in though. Think we let go of over 50 million worth of players, admittedly on lower wages.
And then looking for the most basic, ordinary, run of the mill ‘skill’ to justify and praise….It doesn’t bother me either way, but saying that and then splurging £100m on a player we didn’t 100% need seems slightly extravagant.
I don’t think signing him was a mistake per se. He undoubtedly has talent. And then looking for the most basic, ordinary, run of the mill ‘skill’ to justify and praise….
In every decade MCFC have made some “just wrong” expensive signings. Welcome to that club Jack Grealish….
Between the ears would have been more hopeful.I don’t think signing him was a mistake per se. He undoubtedly has talent.
What sets him apart from other signings is whether he has it behind the ears to be an elite player.
We will know next summer.
More like Barcelona hasn’t been goodHas it already been three seasons at Barcelona? I just looked up the list of trophies he has won and was surprised a bit. One Dutch league. One Dutch domestic cup. One Spanish domestic cup. For a highly reputed player, he really isn't a winner, or his career choices haven't been good.
I have seen him only once, in his national team match. I am curious because he may actually come in next season. If he is wearing the shirt, hopefully, he will fulfill what will be asked of him, which is to be Gundogan's replacement.More like Barcelona hasn’t been good
He may end up taking on a bigger roleI have seen him only once, in his national team match. I am curious because he may actually come in next season. If he is wearing the shirt, hopefully, he will fulfill what will be asked of him, which is to be Gundogan's replacement.
This is the part that makes me curious. In one appearance of him I had seen, he was in a Pirlo role. To describe him charitably, he was a playmaker. Equally, he was holding on to the ball too much and was depending on the 10 in front of him to make the crucial play. In a City eleven, he will either need to be quick-thinking like Gundogan or be a dedicated 10, which is where De Bruyne is. I guess he might actually be De Bruyne's successor. Given his age and injury record, this is also needed. He may end up taking on a bigger role

Doesn't sound like this is idle twitter gossip.
I guess Guardiola is thinking big. A new 9 and a new 10 on top of a budding star 7 in Foden. This setup should be good for four or five seasons at least.Bingo
