Whatever financial incentives Villa and their players do or don’t have.. they will be dwarfed by the financial incentives for winning the league city will have and the bonuses the players will get

but the only incentive our boys need is breaking the hearts of that vile club yet again and picking up the trophy that we, they and everybody knows is the one they crave the most

Sky earlier were saying Gerrard had said he had a dilemma for tonight's selection. What fucking dilemma? It's their last home game of the season, surely he goes full strength and the same on Sunday. Both results mean nothing to Villa except maybe a bit of extra money for league positions.

Our game means more.

Do you really need an answer? You know when Villa played Liverpool and he said Villa was all he was interested about? Well with us on the weekend and the chance for Liverpool to win the title he now cares about Villa.

'Grealish had a £100m release clause in his contract at Villa Park, however, and it is understood that the transfer does not include any performance-related bonuses, with City paying the club-record fee in three equal instalments.'

According to the same article that suggests Jota bonus for wolves.

Back to the thread, I'd rather see Stones start than Walker. Happy with Ake over either though, and Cancelo and Zinchenko. Pep will know how fit they really are.

Why?! Walker is far more important. If we can play Ake then stick Laporte at RCB and play Cancelo LB. Walker is so effective in seeing off danger from counters.

I don't know why Ake hasn't been playing. Surely Pep can see Ferny is done for in that CB role. And whilst Laporte and Ake are both left sided, Laporte has played right side for Spain at the Euros and Dias and Cancelo are both right footers who seem better on the left!

I'm comfortable with Cancelo and Zinch as a pair. Far more than Dinho and Laporte. Hence, rather Stones than Walker. IF, either os indeed fit.

Ake must be carrying an injury.

Didn’t we just meet Grealish’s release clause? Can’t see a release clause having that sort of performance related add on

Late to the party here so forgive if already covered. Wouldn’t the value of any add on payment for Jack winning the Lge (if one existed) be smaller than Villa winning three points and finishing a couple of places higher in the EPL table?
Tis a fair question.

It is liverpool fans making random claims, wouldn't really pay much attention to it. Some on here threw it about as a joke. That's all there really is to it.

We don't know how they're structured, but it's normally appearances and trophies spread over the length of the contract. So, in short, yeah, probably. It won't be a factor in anything, win, lose or draw.

Probably not. It’s around £2.2m per place in the PL.

£25m were it to be true would be 12 places.

We paid his release clause, so it’s whatever was in that. Would imagine it would be fairly simple ie pay Villa £100m

There are no further updates yet. Dias is out. Stones and Walker both trained yesterday, as per the thread title. Just hoping Pep doesn’t piss on our chips and today’s press conference and rule them out.
I was thinking the exact same. Then again we all know Pep by now his exact words will be "John and Kyle have trained but we will have to wait and see if they are ready for the game, We have two more sessions, After that we will see".

He never gives anything away.
