At the time, the fees were pretty good in fairness for talented but unproven players but to allow them both to depart knowing you've got 3 defenders towards the end of their contracts and not tying at least some of them down first is a colossal balls up by whoever sanctioned it. You'll have to pay more for Kounde or whoever your top target is than the combined fee received for both of those.

The Guehi one stung even at the time to be honest, especially since I was advocating against it precisely because we were selling Tomori at the same time.

Would be better if Liverpool gave him that humongous 5 year deal. He'll fall off a cliff in the next 18 months probably and they'll be saddled with his contract for years to come. Liverpool selling Salah to Real Madrid would be the smart move for them.

He’ll only just be 30 when the season starts. He’s got 4 more top seasons in him at least.

He's incredibly fit and lives his life immaculately,he also has an amazing attitude and hunger, and finally.....he rarely suffers with injury.

I think the opposite,i suspect he will still be a handful well into his thirties.

It's just the way he plays. I've already noticed a drop off from his level earlier this season. I think he'll morph into a poacher of some kind, like Ronaldo and contribute less and less to the team outside the penalty box.

Well he never gets kicked because he falls over if you come within a yard of him
