So you really think Txiki and the gang are the ones making the decisions on the players we sign up and not Pep?
they make the decisions together on the players that are on the list, but whether or not a transfer makes sense from a business side (i.e should we spend 200 million on kalvin philipps because pep wants him) is definitely not part of pep's job

OMG, I'm not sure what football you lot watch or whether you are youngsters playing FIFA. Kalvin Phillips is perhaps the most 1 dimensional centre midfielder I've seen since Nigel DeJong. Yes he could wear a number 8 shirt and run up and down the pitch but so could my wife. What he certainly couldn't do is what KDB or Gundogan does and that's pass accurately and create whilst running and score goals. He is nothing more than a stopper, disrupter, slower downer and sideways passer and if your eyes are seeing anything else then get them bloody tested before doing anything that might kill you because they are not working!
If he’s as good as NDJ that’ll do me

For sure. But what you and I think makes sense isn’t the same as what the club think makes sense. It’s important to have a more rational view of transfers than simply howling at the moon because you personally think a player is worth less than the club think he’s worth. I don’t think Grealish is worth 100 million but I accept happily that the club think he was worth it. I fucking love our set up though. I don’t think I know better than the people who are paid millions to get these things right.

Come on what? I hugely rate Phillips and I think most of the people slagging him off will be eating humble pie if we sign him. He's going to be a beast in our team. I've not got anything else to say as obviously people have different opinions. If we sign him and he fails, I'll also be here for the pie being served me!
You went hiding a few months after last summer to be fair. ;)

Depressing to think Rice could be done for around £75M if reports from today are to be believed

I definitely don't know any better than the people currently managing the club to unbelievable heights, that's for sure. But if you ask me would I be happy with this player for the quoted price (which btw, I don't believe is true), then I am saying show me option #2 and #3.

and you know what, I think the people managing the club would eventually agree, as I said I don't believe this price at all.

Or maybe we cannot convince better players to join City so we have decided to sign Phillips?
So if you have convinced yourself that we can’t get a better player, why are you still getting worked up about it.

(Torrent of irrational cultist replies to follow…)
I would hazard a guess that the Rice story is as far fetched as the one by Delooney about Phillips.
There's no way West Ham will drop their asking price by 30 or 40 million and we will not be paying 60 million for Phillips, 45 million plus Delap on loan.

I still remember when we had an argument about paying £60M for Tchouameni. And now we’re here for Kalvin fucking Phillips lmao

Does West Ham care for Delap on loan?
