He's a defensive mid, for god's sake... Pace, hes actually very mobile. Injury record is actually good as the ones hes got arent reoccuring. Compare his arieal ability to Fernas.

He was almost not taken on by Leeds because of his lack of pace

Doesn't matter if they aren't recurring yet, he over the last 2 seasons he's started picking up month+ injuries.

Fernandinho was phenomenal in the air given his size(60%+ win rate), Phillips isn't remotely close with his 33% win rate

You do understand that if you are saying he isnt a pure DM then he shouldnt be in situations where i win aerial duels right? Plus most of those % comes down when he ususally plays CB for Leeds. One flaw in his game is basically his aerial stats, which is no issue whatsoever.

I would imagine this will move very fast after the England get together for two reasons.

One is that England camps are the quickest catalyst for players to push for moves when player conversation turns to medals, wages, managers etc. I was told by a director of a mid table PL club a while back that they dreaded their players going away with England as it often ended in issues - be it tfr requests or new contract requests.

Second is that leaks will be out of control once it’s spoken about at the England camp.

It became common knowledge about the Grealish deal being nailed on very early last Summer cause Grealish had told other England players that he was moving and they told their mates etc which is where the news of it being done was spread.

I said I wasn't against the signing in my initial post and pointed out what I believe are his positives.. Just replied to a poster to bring his negatives to show why i think he is currently just an average Prem midfielder.

Younger? We are talking present time, you know, and hes one of the best english dms out there.

I wont discuss this further because you are fairly set against Phillips, so this wont go anywhere. He's a top signing and a top backup for Rodri.
