again the reason you should care about the price being £65m is that our budget isn't endless and it very directly means we will have less money for our next target and might miss out on one. 15m overpay here, 5m overpay there, they add up. for 5 years we haven't gotten a replacement leftback because there was never enough leftover in the budget for it.

it's got nothing to do with it being "your" money or how much twats online will tell us we've overpaid and call us oil club etc etc. these are relevant. the budget is relevant.

Unfortunately I think they've probably learnt their lesson after wasting 130m on Maguire and Wan-Bissaka and the days of United spending ridiculous money on overhyped English players is over. 150m on Grealish and Phillips feels like something they would've done when Woodward was there.

Grealish will recoup the $100 mil from City's share of merchandise in his name alone...if they haven't already...he can stand on the sideline for the next 4 years and it would be a good business decision...so tired of the Grealish investment debate made by people who obviously have no clue regarding the business end of football...

Btw, come back next year at this time and we can talk about Grealish on the pitch...
