She absolutely exemplifies exactly what is wrong: the nation was warned about the damage that would be done yet the government 'got it done', ignoring those warnings, and it is us that now suffer, considerably so.

I know, but the juxtaposition of having a “lefty” King whilst needing to keep the plebs in place will be fun to watch.
There's nothing in her head except the catchphrases she gets prepped with before the interview.
It's all so pitifully transparent as well, you can see the moment she remembers that some aide told her to address him by his first name to try and get on top, and then puts it in every subsequent answer.

I'd wondered if it was just me thinking the number of people who use the interviewers name in a matey way seemed odd!
No that's 100% a directive from some government PR team who did a focus group and saw it played well.

Well, I'm not going to hold them responsible for Russia attacking Ukraine, but yes you're correct, the vast majority of the problems are of their own creation. It appears trapped in a mindset where everyone is now viewed as an enemy and diplomacy and conciliation are in short supply.
Govt can hardly argue that bishops should not be in the house of Lords because they are not elected.

This lot aren't f..king stupid are they. They have engineered all these crises, the NI Protocol - EU taking UK to court, Rwanda and ECHR (not the EU but who cares it still those damned Europeans). They know Brexit is their big vote winner and it is no surprise that all this is happening in the run up to two by elections.

Exactly right, and the likes of the Mail, Express, Sun and Telegraph will do their bit to demonise Europe over the next couple of weeks and the gullible will be taken in as usual because stories like this just reinforce their prejudices and they want to believe anything that bashes Europe.

The Tory party no longer exists.
Its now the Brexit party, its Farage's finest creation. It is possibly the most far right Government in UK history. It no longer represents aspiration, its no longer the party of low tax, its no longer the party of fiscal prudence, its claim to conserve national institutions is laid bare with its attacks on the BBC, Monarchy and the Judiciary. I used to get one nation Conservatism, it was not my politics but I could understand the way they saw this country and the motives they had in trying to change if for what they believed was for the better. They were always the safe choice in hard times because Labour's radicalism unnerved the status quo.
Now they have evolved into a reactionary Nationalist party, they have no vision, they react to events and at the moment that reaction is all about keeping the cult of Johnson in place. Everything they do now is about Johnson and keeping him in power, that is how much that man has polluted our political system. His supporters are maniacal in their fervour, they ignore his lies and indiscretions and to be honest I do not understand why. He is a stain on our nation and he is making our great country a laughing stock. I hate that, I love my country.
There are still some decent Tories in the country and they voted against him, in what was in any other confidence vote would have been perceived as a disaster for the incumbent. Yet we had the likes of Rees Mogg saying it was a triumph.
My big worry is where we go now, we have a home secretary intent on delivering the most ridiculous of plans to stop people buying boats in France, we have a transport secretary who accuses Labour of taking money from the RMT, when they are not an affiliated Union and also refusing to arbitrate the issues, we have a DWP secretary devoid of compassion and intelligence,
We see Lefty, woke and anti British used as pejoratives to describe anything these Johnson cultists see as threat to their hegemony. I am left wing, I love my country, because what I believe is patriotic. Patriotism is about wanting your country to be the best it can be, the Tory party is now a Nationalist English party, it believes our country is still the greatest country in the world and rules an empire. That is how idiotic they are. Realism and common sense has left the Tory party, because it is no longer the Tory party.

One advisor resigning would suggest 50% ethical value, two suggests that any ethical behaviour has long gone.
It's not like they're much good at levelling up.
The Public Accounts Committee repeatedly says the "alphabet soup" of funding schemes (by putting in bids) isn't getting money to the places that need it. Councils that are over optimistic about how quickly a project could start are more likely to win than if they are realistic, there is no feedback to councils on failed bids, and in at least one instance the levelling up department wrote the principles for a successful bid only when they knew who would win!
Putting in bids costs money and it's often councils in deprived areas that can least afford to be constantly bidding for limited funds (and that's without the explicit claims that you're more likely to get funding if you're in a marginal seat, or Tory ministers approving each other's schemes in fairly affluent areas).
