ive been having a think and seeing people freak out (mostly on twitter) about the amount of player where refreshing, selling letting go ect. Im personally positve about this and would rather the club go total refresh like they did in summer 2017 as its probably the only full preseason were going to get for the next couple of years due to the late finish at end of 2022/23 season plus the probably early start to the 2023/24 season due to there being an earlier finish because of euro 2024. so its unlikley were going to have any solid preseasons coming up for pep to bed in players. Therefore the club may be planning to just make the odd additions them summers. so probably timing wise this is the best time.

weve also probably got some big cost purchases coming up in future summers so its better to resolve positions which are a little less expensive all in one go.

But your last point makes no sense if we are planning on replacing any of Sterling Mahrez Bernardo or Gundagon as they are expensive to replace the position that are usually not are back up CDM (Fernandinho) but 60 million is not cheap nor full backs in non Pep teams but 45 million it seems goalies (we are sorted anyway)

People need to get used to the fact that there's no chance we'll find a like for like replacement for Bernardo and there's about as much chance of any newbie walking in without that level dropping.

At least with Bellingham we'd be getting someone who has insane potential and is pretty damn decent now, even if it's not fashionable to say so right now.

Hadn't read about Grealish in that sense. I'd imagine he will be used to greater effect this season though. If any of our players (current and future) could match Bernardo's work ethic I'd be made up.

Liverpool over the past few years have done the same.

Zin is a multiple PL winner. He has played in the CL. He is a seasoned international. He is likely one of the lowest earners in this side. In this market, he is £50m minimum.

City for some unknown reason, have far more success selling players that have never/rarely played for us for decent money. Those in and around the 1st team not so much.

The idea that the likes of Ait Nouri and/or Cucurella (who between them have achieved the square root of fuck all) are worth more than Zin is fucking ridiculous.

I expect us to bend over and get royally bummed.

Agree with that.......however id love to see Raheem hit the heights he did at the end of the 19-20 season. He scored some cracking goals and seemed to play with a freedom & confidence that is rarely seen from him imho.

I actually think Walker is the one whose gonna see his minutes decrease. He's the most limited player in the build up. Can't cross, his passing is serviceable and not as comfortable in possession. He'll still get a lot of minutes but I think Pep will really like the idea of Cancelo on the right, Cucurella on the left overlapping our wingers who cut inside.
