It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Oh god. Check Sam's timeline. He's deep into it with Arabic City Twitter. It's gotten dramatic.
I feel for him. dealing with some of those less reputable aggregators can be a nightmare for jouranlists, they literally can't throw any random word on a podcast or respond to a DM without it being taken as a story.

The club might feel that £25m is good value for a player who brings leadership qualities and has the tools to develop into a decent squad player in a Pep system. They might feel that this is more viable than paying a lot for FDJ and the wages that go with it.

I'm not completely sure Phillips is good enough but then again, he might be good enough with Pep's coaching and the amount of football we expect he will play.

What you don't need is sneering attitudes from people who haven't demonstrated that they're anything more than a fan with an opinion. Just like the rest of us.
Likewise I’m not sure he’s good enough but we do desperately need backup for Rodri and at the fees being discussed he seems a very low risk option.

I saw him play last year a couple of times for Leeds and combined with his performances at the Euros i can see how he could, become a valuable squad member.

He doesn’t excite me in any way but let’s be honest he is a step up from a 37 year old ferdi so if the pep wants him then honestly I don’t see why any of us should grumble

For me Rodri has had an excellent season so we need a backup in this position not a first team player and he fits that bill, there are other positions in our squad which we need to spend and upgrade.

I’m ok if we take a gamble on Phillips at the fee being mentioned and devote our resource to bringing in lb/rb or devote to replacing any departing players on short term contracts (Or put in the bank for Bellingham next year).

Cucurella och Phillips for potentially 55-65m is top notch recruitment for the fee.

2 for the price of what we usually pay for 1, both would be great squad players. Wonder where it leaves Zinc who would likely become 3rd option at leftback, as he rarely plays in midfield for City
I mean City doesnt need to sell Zinchenko as Cucurella arriving means we have two lbs and two rbs again, which i think Pep would love.

Sorry I missed that. Who said one is already done?
Tolmie. yesterday.
