It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Only winger we have been linked with was Leao but that’s going to be hard to get him out of AC Milan

Why do some posters think that if a club is interested in a City player he will go and as a fanbase we panic?

I think we were incredibly lucky that we had a generation of players after the takeover who were so committed that they'd just sign new deals every 2 years and we never had to worry. The reality is what we're currently seeing with Bernardo and Raz and previously with KDB. Top players are constantly in demand, and they use that demand to negotiate contracts.

I don’t know why anyone is baulking at the £35m. The player doesn’t want to be here, we don’t want him, he’s ok £300k a week minimum, Chelsea don’t really need him.

It’s totally different to Jesus and no different to Mane.

It’s a good deal all round. We get £35m cash, save £15m wages for his final year. We get back what we paid for him and he has been a magnificent servant for us.

We got value for what we paid and we are getting value for his sale whilst already having his replacement here.
There's no rush. Hold put for a bit, see if we can't get a few million more.

He plays on the left anyway which we already have enough players for. We need a right winger if we're replacing Sterling.

If our transfer targets continues as it is then the replacement will be from the prem.

We ain’t getting Leao out of Milan. They’re on the cusp of an amazing buy-out and about to build on a position of strength. Milan don’t seem like the previous load of crap for the past decade but a seemingly somewhat seriously well run club, about to become very rich. Leao has shown absolutely zero indication to leave.

Only hope of a replacement would be Gnabry, and that seems unlikely.

Its Mendes. Leao I think has two years left on his deal. If City show interest and Leao says yes. Mendes will get him out easily. Probably threaten Milan that Leao wont sign a new deal or he won’t offer them some of his clients or do business etc
