I think sometimes when people criticise a City player for not doing certain things, it's from a viewpoint that isn't really relevant for City.
For instance, Rodri used to get criticised for not being progressive enough with his passing (even though he did it more than any DM in the league at that time) and for passing backwards and sideways too much. But they never bothered to ask why he'd do it or think why it may have been a good thing he did that.
Ederson is another. Apparently he's not a great shot stopper. But there he is on your list with 20 clean sheets. That must mean he's doing something right!
You get it with Grealish, we've had it with Gundogan, Jesus, and Zinchenko over the years a lot. Old school "traditional" qualities aren't necessarily the best way to judge a City player these days.
He's got the most total tackles out of any City player in the defending, midfield, and attacking thirds. He's got nearly double the amount of interceptions as the 2nd highest player.
