Wouldn't it be great if we could have a healthy rivalry with Liverpool rather than the toxic crap we will have to endure again this coming season. I cannot remember ever disliking a club that we compete with as much as the dippers.

There was not as much hatred and stupidity when we were going against Unity in 11/12. I think I am going to try to ignore their crap as there is no reasoning with dipper fans.

Who are the teams that we have had healthy rivalries with when going for the League or promotion? I cannot remember being would up so much in the past but I guess social media and forums make the lunatics more visible.
I accept fully that we have a good few dicks in our fan base, but the current toxic relationship between the clubs and fans is 95% down to them. It boils down to their child like fury at us stopping them winning things, which they view as an absolute entitlement. When Utd faded it was them that would rightfully assume their crown, but then we came along and the cultist venom, lies, tantrums began and escalated, as their “greatest ever team” kept coming second with 90+ points. Long May it continue.

Mods, this is a disgraceful post. How can it be 95% down to them ? They have never done anything wrong so it can't be their fault.

Now if you had said its 95% down to Chelsea fans, then I'd agree.

As we’re on a new thread I’d just like to remind people to be respectful to our murdering, lying, fence-jibbing, bus-bricking, second place-sitting, child-spitting neighbours.
Every club needs a sporting rival as it pushes them to be better... this is what Liverpool do, they bring out the best in City in order to finish first so don’t be so harsh. Imagine McEnroe with no Borg around.. United’s Ferguson with no Wenger and we saw how Celtic struggled with no rivalry or interaction when Rangers were relagated... City winning the league every season by Xmas would only be enjoyable for a period of time before people would cry out for a rival or somebody to challenge them to make it more interesting.

A very good summation. Agree with all you say.

It would be a miracle if we finish above them (again)..

I mean they have the best manager, best CB, best LB, best RB, best CDM, best front 3, best fans, best stadium.

If they're selling Salah for 60k think we need to get a bid in, that is just giving him away ;)

I was expecting Madrid to buy him after mbappe and haaland failures but yeah £60m quid is a bargain. Sell sterling to the chavs and its an instant improvement

I quoted the other poster as he said have to sell for 60 thousand not million, which I thought was bit of a bargain.

Haha…was just browsing and spotted this little gem…maybe because they are sponsored by their dentist and have to blind everyone with their perfect gnashers at least 5 times per game!!

Genuine question. Were you saying that in the 70s and 80s when your (former) club were winning everything thanks to the money the Moores family started to pump into the club?
Football dominance is cyclical. All teams go through successful periods, followed by years of average, mundane, and dross in their history. City are no different - it's just our turn at the moment. I'm lucky (or old) enough to have been there the last time we won the league, but the wait has been well worth it.
Sure, our owner's wealth has a great deal to do with it, but that's always been the case, especially in the last 50 years, and most PL owners are billionaires, not just millionaires. Some invest in their clubs, some take out - just like society as a whole.
Great game, isn't it?
