They are entitled to the latest instalment of their annualised loyalty bonus if they haven’t formally requested a transfer. They don’t get the rest of their salary
I'm sure this happens in some contracts but like you I haven't seen them all so can't say for certain one way or the other, I don't think we're a million miles apart on this. Was a good debate though, conscious we're digressing a little.

Stupidest clauses ever. I would like a bonus for working to the contract I signed.

That's complete speculation right now.

Putting our faith in Cole Palmer and a 22 year old from the Argentinian league to do what Jesus did week in-week out is a risk. Obviously a calculated risk but still remains to be seen how it plays out.

Sorry but what exactly was Gabby doing week in, week out?

Not putting the guy down but the only thing he did with real consistency was work his arse off.

I'm a big fan of him and I'm sad to see him go but it's astonishing how much his reputation has skyrocketed due to a late flurry of goals in the season. If Julian Alvarez fails to produce the goods as often as him then he'll be a flop. The guy was a backup to pretty much every forward we had precisely because of his lack of consistency and ability to do it week in, week out.

Didn't even play week in, week out.

Played 90 mins in the PL New Year game at Brentford, didn't play another full game till Watford in April. Played 224 minutes in between.

Indeed it is. He's actually from Palmers Green (between Enfield Town and Wood Green) making it even more surprising that he is a Gooner. Saying that, my missus was brought up in Barnet, which I tend to associate more with Arsenal (middle class, innit), but she is Spurs.

Originally from Islington, myself and went to primary school in Highbury. My Dad was a Gooner so i only ever had one choice.

Did enough to be kept in my opinion - perhaps all a little too late, but his performances we're improving all the time. Sad to see him go - guarantees Arsenal will be a spanner in our works.
I'll be sad to see him go myself but I don't get this idea that improving Chelsea & Arsenal will overly affect us. Surely united, Spurs and even liverpool will be more concerned as they're more likely to take points of them than ourselves. We'll have a stronger squad this season coming, not weaker.

I think we got a good price for him, I believe he only had a year left?

I think it’s a good move all round. I’ve seen some people saying we shouldn’t be selling to arsenal. Why? They’re not really a rival side as it stands, and with all due respect to the player, Arsenal aren’t going to suddenly jump up a few levels because of this acquisition.

Arsenal have good a good player there though. If he wants regular starts then he’s probably made a good move too. And we get a decent fee for someone we probably wouldn’t be desperate to give a new contract to.

Wasn’t Spurs’ old training ground in Barnet?

Nah, it was in Chigwell area. Right next to a civic amenity site.

The current Spurs training ground is close to Enfield Town centre. They are about to secure some other land nearby for a women's training ground but I don't think that is public knowledge so cannot say any more.

Barnet tends to be associated with Arsenal. Not sure why but living in Barnet it appears to be more Arsenal than Spurs.

My missus was born in an Islington hospital (she was spent the first few months living in Camden, like most Greek Cypriots) so I have often told her that she should be a Gooner. She doesn't react very well to that to the jibe.

For the record, my dad is United but I supported City because I was a contrary child and I preferred blue. :)

Ah right, thought the old one was in Friern Barnet for some reason

There was a lunatic asylum in Friern Barnet that has since been renovated and converted to flats. May be that was the cause of the confusion :)

Most of the Arsenal players live in Barnet though (primarily Hadley Wood and Totteridge) as it gives easy access to their training ground in London Colney (short drive in to Hertfordshire, very close to Barnet).
