The Conservative Party

Agency staff covering for maintenance doesn't seem like a good idea, or possibly easy to find the numbers for (until everyone's fired, of course).

I'm not convinced that checking for track issues with drones is going to convince many either.
There was a dreadful accident at Potters Bar in 2002.
Not so much caused by agency staff, as prisoners on day release doing a technicians job!

Well I suppose they’ll point to the payments they offered. Other than that they’ve done fuck all. Councils have stepped in so at least help is there, imagine being in a foreign land and having to put up with this.

I’ve said before if something can be solved by throwing money or weapons at it then Boris is your man. Sadly most things require a little more finesse.
Payments? 3 months and I’ve not had a fucking penny. The government have made a shambles of every single part of the scheme including the one thing that even slightly mitigates the difficulties we took on.

Was it? Didn't know that, but Lynch has said that each company has their own kit, so it'll be a bit different for each.

I do think that it is probably a job where you learn about the things you're looking for while doing the job, and an agency crew may not be aware of everything.

Just a question, how much moemy do we have? After the pandemic I assumed we were massively in debt, so much so that we would be paying it off for generations, yet money (although not a lot) is been dished out for heating bills and then Sunak promises to cut income tax in two year (before a general election) how are we supposed to pay the debt off, does it exist? We are barely one year out of the pandemic, the amount of tax they must be raking in from increased petrol prices must be enormous now.
We always seem to be able to find cash for someone/thing that’s not in this country, with the demand for big wage increases, what would the real cost be? For me any increase would end up been spent anyway so more taxes and better for the economy.

That’s shocking that mate. Thank fuck the cost of living hasn’t shot up eh?

Weird.
Some guy on the BBC politics show earlier today mentioned Brexit and this was immediately laughed off and brushed aside rather hastily.
It's become akin to showing a man's erection on television.

Someone said Brexit was like herpes, it’s something we all have to live with, is likely to flare up at inconvenient moments and no one wants to talk about it.

Malthouse's statement on the Met Police different from the one given to the Opposition and to the (Deputy) Speaker.

When he spoke, it contained some openly political attacks on the London Mayor. Labour complained that this is low practice, and the Dep Speaker seemed of the same opinion.

Clearly Malthouse didn't want comeback on previous Mayors or opinions of any other issues which may have made Khan's role more tricky, so he just sent out an incomplete statement knowing that Labour wouldn't include any such counter-attacks.

The companies main director was a Tory MP. He should have been arrested and charged with corporate manslaughter

Just watching a documentary on BBC4 about Thatcher - will never agree with most of what she did but I think some of todays Tories that claim to be Thatcherites need to watch it too and see just how far from the mark they are in claiming her to be their spiritual mentor.
